  • Amazing episode. Just three reviews?

    10
I agree with those who say there's hardly anything worth watching these days. Fringe? OK. Justified? OK. The Event has been standing in my personal queue, aspiring to become a dynamic show that can keep viewers attention. It was not bad, but lacked something. And now, or since Inostranka the show has gained new dynamics and the plot has become interesting. There's a lot of suspense, too. As a result of the latest developments, the earth is in real danger. Thomas was not a real threat, but Sophia is. Simon may become our only ally. The role of Dempsey in the (e)/(E)vent is still unclear, but all the more interesting for that. At first he seemed to be a traitor or an alien, now he may become the only force aliens will have to reckon with. I felt there might be more viewers like me who are starting to appreciate the show. So just three reviews is fewer than I expected. Hope the show will be able to draw in more viewers. I am now sure it has a lot of potential.moreless
  • Sean is so much better this week!

    8.0
I am tempted to ship Sean and Vicky just because I can. Every good show needs a ship and Leila has been out of the way lately. And I like Sean more after this week than I ever did before. I never really liked his side of the story as much before, and I always preferred the half of the episodes that included the president and Sophia. But he really kicked some ass this week. Even though he was retching while torturing that guy he didnt stop. No matter how much he didnt like it he did what he thought needed to be done. Not that I approve of torture, but it was impressive. But Michael was far less impressive. I did not at all expect him to do what he did. Then I was hoping maybe Leila would do something and her and Simon would team up and that would have been awesome, but no. Of all the aliens the only one who did anything even remotely smart this week was Simon.moreless
  • You Bury Other Things Too

    9.0
You Bury Other Things Too was a superb and entertaining episode of The Event. It was really interesting to see how events played out from the last episode. There was a lot of character and plot development as most of the characters made drastic decisions. There was a lot of suspense, intrigue and drama. This episode had a nice flow and kept things moving along. It was interesting to learn Sophia's plans as well as President Martinez's. This episode definitely gave a lot of good info but also left me wanting more. I look forward to watching the next episode of The Event!!!!!moreless
  • I DVR these episodes because there is absolutely nothing (except Fringe)to watch later in the week.

    6.0
But I can see why the show will most likely be canceled - there isn't much else for the Sleepers to do. I mean, Sofia states she wants to wipe out most humans from this planet so that she can bring billions of aliens here from her own dying planet. I thought this was already discussed - when Thomas got the reply to his message stating his planet was dying - didn't he say there wasn't sufficient time to bring all of it's inhabitants here?

Anyway, in the too little, too late category - the goings on in France are kinda interesting. For a really old guy, I must admit Dempsey is really good at killing other people (although he always seems sorry about it later). And Sean has turned into a real bad-ass without having to drag Leyla around. He and Vicky make a really good team, I think. Oh well, does it really matter?moreless

    • Sophia: Our planet is dying. Earth, it seems, is our people's only hope. I swore an oath... we all did... to refrain from harming benevolent civilizations like the one on this planet. That has been my guiding principle for the last 66 years. but now, after witnessing the slaughter of our people in Los Angeles... I can no longer consider this population benevolent. The oath no longer applies.

    • Vicky: You lose the nerves eventually.
Sean: What are you talking about?
Vicky: I'm talking about what happens when you kill. People deal with it in one of two ways. One is it grows in you. you may drink or take pills to keep it foggy, but it's always there, haunting you. The other way is yo bury it so deep, you never think about it. But you bury other things, too... things you miss.
      Sean: I'm doing this.
Vicky: I know. I just wanted you to be prepared.
