    tvbythenumbers Premiere

    6.85 million viewers

    18-49 demo: 2.0

Lead in Ghost Whisperer had 9.31 million viewers/2.5 18-49 demo - a loss of 2.46 million viewers for 9pm time slot. Friday Night Death Slot lives up to its name.

Seidman: "CBS won the night overall, but both the premiere of The Ex List and the return of Numb3rs (10pm ET) must have been a little disappointing for the eye network. The Ex List was down off the premiere of Moonlight (8.54 mil) a year ago, but Numb3rs was also down noticeably."

No wonder Numb3rs is down when the lead-in sucks so badly. I never watched Moonlight, but I could never understand how they could cancel it because for a Friday show Moonlight did really good in the ratings and it was obvious that everything that would replace it, would be doing so much worse....

Finally, the cancellation of Moonlight is biting CBS on the butt!

The show did do better than "Moonlight" in 18-49 and won its timeslot in that demographic. So in terms of the almighty advertising dollar, it actually did do better than "Moonlight."

Actually you're wrong, Moonlight's premiere not only had 8.54 million viewers but had 3.25 million in the coveted 18-49 demo. The lowest total viewership for Moonlight was 7.10 million & the lowest for the 18-49 demo was 2.58 million. Ex-List's premiere only had 6.85 million viewers & 2.0 million in the 18-49 demo. There's a reason 9pm is called the Friday nite death slot.

Not saying that it did better in the demo, but that it won the demo.

It doesn't really matter though, it dropped more last night and will likely be toast by November. So we're arguing about two series who are both getting worse numbers that "Close to Home" which did far better but - ironically - could not win its timeslot and got routinely beat by Las Vegs. Oh well.

Exactly my point. That was last Friday. It won the demo. in the premiere. It still is doing well now.

I hope it continues on because it is a sweet show and I like Elizabeth Reaser but I have my doubts. Oh well, I guess I'll keep watching and hope that it gains some viewers somehow.

tvbythenumbers: "The Ex List (5.65 million viewers, 1.6/5 rating/share among 18-49 year olds) is doing worse than Moonlight did. For CBS it's pretty much the same deal as last year. They're getting relatively good performance out of the 8pm show and 10pm show, and relatively bad performance at 9pm. Back to the drawing board!"

For Oct 24th, 5.65 million viewers
    18-49 demo rating/share: 1.6/5

Canceled for good after losing nearly half the audience of lead-in, Ghost Whisperer. Last Friday's installment hit a series low of 5.1 million viewers. And no wonder as it was just a predictable and bad rip off of HIMYM.
