I must say, this is my favorite episode of the whole show. To see how all these girls started off so young and innocent in the first season, and at the end to see Blair end up buying Easltand and becoming the headmistress makes this episode a series classic.

Eastland was in bankruptcy so Blair decides to stop it from falling under, she buys the school. She has a lot of trouble finding a headmaster, so she ends up taking the role of headmistress.

Things are a little rocky at first. She has trouble with keeping the boys and girls apart, a waiting student who keeps stuffing her bra with socks, and a student determined to get herself expelled. Any Facts of Life fan who hasnt seen this episode is missing out on a lot. Its definetly a classic.moreless

    • The final episode was videotaped on March 02, 1988

    • By the end of this season, The Facts Of Life lasted one year longer than it's parental series Diff'rent Strokes which ran for eight years.

    • Lisa Whelchel, Mindy Cohn and Kim Fields are the only three cast members to appear in all TV specials of the series.

    • Lisa Whelchel, Kim Fields and Mindy Cohn are the only three cast members to appear in both the Pilot and the Series Finale. They are also the only three cast members to appear in all the TV specials and all nine seasons of the series.

    • The episode ends with a snapshot of all the major characters except for Natalie.

    • This episode was a good send-off for the series, but would it have worked as a spinoff? The format, except for the addition of the boys, was really the same as that of the first season of the show, which was unsuccessful and had to be revamped in order to save the series. Even the dormitory set is similar to the one seen in the first season.

    • The "Chug-a-Lug" bar, where Blair catches Terry, is the same bar where Blair was arrested with her friends in "The New Girl" in Season 2.

    • The final episode was a tie-in to what was going to be a spin-off series for Lisa Whelchel which fell through shortly after Facts of Life ended. Sherrie Krenn also would've been in the new series.
