The Facts of Life Reunion
AIRED:
Thirteen years later, Mrs. Garrett's "girls" have all grown into successful, independent women. After a stint in the Peace Corps with her husband, a widowed Mrs. Garrett is heading back to America, ready for a new life and new romance, and also looking forward to seeing the girls again. Blair is wealthier than ever, after building a hotel empire with her husband, Tad. But she suspects he is having an affair. "Tootie," now preferring to be called by her real name, Dorothy, has forsaken her acting hopes to host her own talk show. Natalie is a dedicated TV news producer, juggling an active love life with a frenetic work schedule that takes her all over the world. Jo, ever the free spirit, is a devoted cop, wife, and mother. It's been years since Natalie has had a Thanksgiving back in America, so she's talked all the girls and Mrs. Garrett into spending the holiday together back in Peekskill, NY. When Jo is unable to attend the reunion, her teenage daughter, Jamie, and husband, Rick, come instead. They're all in for a surprise when Natalie's not one, but two boyfriends unexpectedly show up at the reunion. Trouble soon starts, as both men compete for Natalie's attention and exclusivity, so it's up to the girls to help solve Natalie's predicament.moreless

  • Awesome movie!

    10
I hope they make another one someday. Even though George, Sue Ann, Geri, Mr. Parker, and Roy were mentioned, I was disappointed when they didn't acknowledge Beverly Ann, Andy, Pippa, Kelly, Nancy, Molly, Cindy, and Edna's other son, Alex. It helped that these movie writers are die-hard FOL fans. I wished they would have shown the Over Our Heads/Edna's Edibles house that Edna and Beverly Ann owned. Me and many other FOL fans hope another reunion movie happens, we hope to see Jo, Beverly Ann, Andy, Pippa, the four first season girls, George, Kelly, Alex Garrett, Geri, and Roy appear this time. Hey, it could even be a two parter. Even if they don't make a movie, we can always write fanfics at Fanfiction.net, and then some. Keep up the great work!moreless
  • Terrific Movie!

I think the rteturn of these fine actor was terrific! It was a great way to memorialize the old show and albeit the perkiness of the old sitcoms were not present, the fact they "WERE BACK" was a sheer spectacular moment of nostalgia for us folks who were at that age of teen life who had the questions and experiences that they were easily able to relate to the "Facts Of Life" show! It was able to penetrate issues and things about life only young people can relate to. Awsome!

All generations will love those old programs. I guarrantee it!

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Here's a goof. Little Tootie is all grown up and wants to be called Dorothy. As hard as it is to believe, she has a daughter of her own! Dorothy is thrilled to show her daughter Main Street in Peekskill, but when she does, she shows her the theater where she used to perform but doesn't point out where Edna's Edibles and Over Our Heads used to be!

  • QUOTES (0)

  • NOTES (6)

    • Actually, Tootie's daughter also says the famous Tootie line "There's gonna be trouble" at the very end of the movie.

    • Lisa Whelchel was on a book tour when she was called about the reunion movie. Nancy McKeon was unable to be in the movie since she was filming her series "The Division" despite the fact that the series and the movie were filmed in the Canada.

    • An in-joke was used to explain Nancy McKeon's absence. When Jo's husband mentioned that "the division" which Jo works in had to go to Los Angeles, Natalie replies, "I haven't seen Jo in a lifetime." Nancy McKeon was unavailable because she was working on her TV show, "The Division," which airs on the Lifetime network.

    • It was stated that Jo was a police officer, this is the same job that Nancy's character does on "The Division". George and Geri are mentioned in the movie.

    • The Facts of Life Theme is heard for a while when the girls visit the school.

    • Blair's and Tootie's memorable lines were also added in the movie.

Blair: "I just had another one of my brilliant ideas."
Tootie: "Ooooh, There's gonna be trouuuuble."
