  • Falling in love...or else!

    8.3
Father Time - Timmy destroys his father's running trophy with newly-acquired heat vision. Thanks to Cosmo, he gets the idea to go back in time and stop his father from ever winning the prize. Faster than you can say, 'This is heavy-duty, Doc', Timmy returns to a harsh future, with his dad as the overlord. Perhaps the most like the later episodes in that it takes an okay premise and overruns it with stupidity (why DIDN'T Timmy just wish to stop himself from destroying the trophy?). Unlike the later episodes, though, this redeems itself with funny bits like the 'evil dad' scenes (which work much better than any of Vicky's scenes in "Channel Chasers"...or "Channel Chasers", in general) and the identity of Cosmo and Wanda's past godchild.

    8.0

Apartnership - Wanda's in a foul mood which alienates Cosmo enough to go home to mother. Unfortunately, he was unaware of the False Anger anniversary (wow, the 9895 years just fly by, don't they?), and she and Timmy travel to Fairy World to get him back. No doubt about it, this is the most genuine presentation of the Cosmo/Wanda relationship; this is a couple working out their differences without interference from pointless insults and do-nothing babies. Mama Cosma is a funny character (that never was this funny again) and The Fairy Dating Game is a riot.

  • Pretty good episode.

    8.0
Father Time: This was a pretty good episode, in which Timmy destroys his dad's trophy and travels back in time to make sure he never won it. The whole episode was funny, but my favourite part was the part when Timmy messed up the future. "Come on in... OR ELSE!" All in all, I liked it.

Apartnership: Another good episode. Cosmo thinks Wanda hates him on their anniversary, so he goes back to Fairyworld to live with his Mama Cosma. The funniest part was when Mama Cosma thought after all that time, Cosmo was merely out getting milk. Both episodes are great, so I give it an 8! (Yes, I'm an awesome poet. :P)moreless
  • This show reaches a new low because it keeps taking over used plots from other shows and using them to try to be funny, but its not.

  • Another good episode of FOP!

    9.8
Father Time: Loved seeing this episode. I liked the 70's versions of Cosmo and Wanda and I liked seeing Mr. Turner as a kid. And Timmy even disguised as his father so that he could win the race for his father because if that trophy hadn't been won, a lot of things would have been affected to Timmy's family. Overall, I would give it a 9.6.

Apartnership: I loved this episode even more that Father Time! I liked the styrofoam they put out for Cosmo's anniversary. I especially loved the part when Wanda turned Cosmo into a baby. He's all, "Hey! You made me make a poopy!" Lol. I also loved when Timmy disguised as the host of the Fairy Dating Game when he accidentally struck Cupid with a love arrow which made him fall in love with and follow around Mama Cosma, who was standing in front of him. Overall, I would give that one a perfect 10. Keep it up, Fairly Oddparents!

    9.6 for Father Time + 10.0 for Apartnership = 19.6 / 2 = 9.8 for an overall score.moreless
  • A hilarious pair of episodes, both with sentimental value. Apartnership especially is one of the reasons why FOP is one of my favorite shows.

    9.5
I was shocked to see that this episode only had an 8.3! Father Time/Apartnership are wonderful episodes. The jokes are hilarious, and the plots are much more meaningful than the plots from recent episodes. A must watch! Father Time: Timmy melts his Dad's prized trophy using heat vision. Instead of apologizing, Cosmo (who also came up with the heat vision idea) persuades him to go back in time to stop Dad from ever getting the trophy.

The trio head to the 70's, where Cosmo and Wanda meet their (hilarious) former selves. (A great line during their meeting: "We're going to find ourselves!" "Hey, there we are! Let's dance!") Timmy tells his young future-father that he is a 40 year old fitness coach from the future. He "helps" Dad lose the race, and Dad ends up being sent to 'Lil tyrants reform school. I don't want to spoil whether Timmy can get himself out of this situation or not, so watch the episode to find out what happens.

The episode is full of great jokes, and I thought that the incorporation of Cosmo and Wanda's past selves was hilarious. I find myself constantly quoting this episode's great lines. Two thumbs up.

Apartnership: It's Cosmo and Wanda's 9,000-something (huge number, sorry XD) anniversary. Timmy helps Cosmo cover the room in styrofoam, as he believes it is the styrofoam anniversary. Timmy sends Wanda to teach a cat to do tricks in order to give Cosmo time. At the same time, Timmy tries to make anniversary dinner for his (very hungry) parents.

When Wanda comes home in an angry rage, Cosmo leaves for Fairy World to stay with his mother ("Mama Cosma?!"). He had left home many, many years ago to get milk, and when Mama Cosma sees him without it (and finds out he married Wanda), she closes the door in his face. Cosmo gets milk, and is granted entry into the house, where he is presented two eligible new brides.

In order to inform him of the miscommunication, Wanda and Timmy track him down at his mother's, where they engage in an argument (where Wanda calls Cosmo a Mama's boy multiple times, the start of a running gag in the episode). This puts Cosmo, Wanda, and the robotic bacholerettes onto a "Dating Game"-style show, hosted by Cupid (who is being bribed by Mama Cosma to make sure Cosmo and Wanda don't fall back in love). Will the pair reunite?

This episode is one of my all-time favorites, mainly because of the hilarious segments with Timmy's hungry parents ("MONKEY FEET!"), and because of how sweet the ending is. Later episodes show depict Cosmo hating Wanda, but this earlier episode show them with a much kinder relationship.

This pair of episodes are two of my all-time favorites. I know that FOP is in its last 20 episodes, and I don't know if they'll be akin to these two episodes. I just hope the series ends as sweetly and hilariously as it began.

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (9)

    • In Apartership, when Star and Twinkle (Mama Cosma's two bachelorette girlfriends) are revealed by Mama Cosma to be robots in disguise, they suddenly speak in stereotypical female robot voices (a tinny-sounding repeating monotone "We love you, Cosmo.") But earlier before they are unmasked, they talk clearly and like normal humans (or fairies, in this case), and are also seen eating some of Mama Cosma's "I hate Wanda" cookies (as robots can't digest food.)

    • In "Father Time", Timmy uses his heat vision to win the race, but fairy magic isn't allowed to help anyone win competitions.

    • In Father Time, Dad tries to find a replacement trophy at Z-bay, which is a play at e-bay.

    • In Father Time, when Timmy runs past a trapped racer saying "I've still got heat vision!", the animation of him running looks really choppy and amateurish.

    • We learn that Cosmo and Wanda were apparently Billy Gates fairy godparents.

    • In Apartnership, when Wanda throws a styrofoam picture of Cosmo and Wanda on the floor near Cosmo, it breaks, but some shot later, it's gone.

    • In Father Time, when Dad was training for the race, you see a pile of weights next to him. But in another shot, the weights are gone.

    • In Apartnership, in the styrofoam scene, Cosmo and Timmy are in styrofoam tuxedos. But in a shot of Wanda, they are back in their regular outfits.

    • In Apartnership, in one scene with Cupid, he didn't have an outline.

  • QUOTES (33)

    • Wanda: I'm sorry I yelled at you puddin'. I promise I won't do it unless you really mess up again.
      Cosmo: Like I will tomorrow?
      Wanda: It's a date!

    • (After Timmy melts his dad's trophy with heat vision)
Dad: I'm so mad! I wish beams of heat could come out of my eyes right now!
(Cosmo attempts to grant the wish)
Wanda: No, no. Ours is the one with the silly pink hat.

    • Man: For getting last place in the race you are going to be sent to Dictator School.
      70s Dad: What! No!

    • Timmy: I'm your trainer.
70s Dad: But you're too young!
Timmy: I'm 40 I just look 10! Now keep eating!

    • Timmy: Hello Dad.
Dad: That's what they call me! Or else! Enter, Or else!

    • Timmy: What are you doing here! and that's my dad!
A.J: We are all dad's children!

    • Timmy: But everyone can't be happy ALL the time!
Dad: (Amused) Rebellion! That is so 70s! Guards!

    • Dad: (Showing Timmy pictures) This is me graduating dictator college. This is me taking over the world with smiles! And this is where I'd put a trophy... IF I HAD ONE!! Sorry, lost the happy, but the happy's back!

    • Cupid: (To Momma Cosma) You know, as the God of Love, I love cash.

    • Timmy: Did he do anything?
Cosmo: I made her hair more Summer-y.
      Wanda: I'm not a Summer! I'm a Winter!

    • (In Fairy World)
Timmy: I wish... (Lots of fairies approach him)
Wanda: Back off! He's with me.

    • Mama Cosma: Now, who wants some 'I rather dislike Wanda' cookies?
      Cosmo: I do! I'm starved!

    • Wanda: This better not be what it looks like!
Mama Cosma: You mean Cosmo not surrounded by women more asthetically-pleasing than you and biting your face in half on a cookie?
Cosmo: Nope, that pretty much hits the nail on the head!

    • Cosmo: I am not a mama's boy!
Mama Cosma: (From off screen) Yes you are!
      Cosmo: Yes Mama.

    • 70's Wanda: It's The Man, man!
      70's Cosmo: Fight the power!

    • Cosmo: Uh, you following this?
      Wanda: I'm a leader, not a follower.

    • Cosmo: Thanks for sending Wanda away for the day so I could decerote the room, Timmy. What sort of meaningless task did you wish for her to do anyway?
Timmy: Oh, something she'll never be able to do, even with magic.
      (Cuts to park)
Wanda: (Is shown with a sleeping cat) For the last time! Sit up! Roll over! Oh, care about something other than yourself, you stupid cat!!! (Cat shows claws) Mr. Whiskers?

    • Cosmo: What's the big deal mama? Why do you hate Wanda so much?
Mama Cosma: It isn't Wanda, I'd dislike anyone who took my Cosmo Lolo from me.

    • Wanda: I'm sorry I yelled at you puddin'. I promise never to yell at you unless you really mess up.
      Cosmo: Like I will tomorrow?
      Wanda: It's a date!

    • Cupid: Well, where's the dough? You know as the god of love, I love cash!

    • Cosmo: Bachelorette number three, would you turn me into a literal interpretation of a mama's boy? You know with a diaper, a binky and everything?
Wanda: Well it was kinda harsh, but it was funny.
Cosmo: Yeah, it was kinda funny, but harsh.

    • Wanda: You're such a mama's boy!
      Cosmo: I am not!
Wanda: (Turns Cosmo into a baby) Now you are!
Cosmo: (Diaper sags) Hey, you made me make a poopie!

    • Billy Gates: One day I'm going to link every computer in the world - I'll call it the internet!
Cosmo: That's silly! You should call it the Timmy.
      Billy Gates: Oh, okay.

    • Timmy: And now it's time for: Scary stories from the future!...in the future, there will be 500 TV channels.
      Young Dad: Far out!
      Timmy: But nothing to watch...
Young Dad: Noo! (Keeps on going)

    • Timmy: Uh-oh. It's almost midnight! If Mom doesn't get food soon, she gets kinda testy!
      (Flash back to Timmy's house)
Dad: (Dozing, then wakes up suddenly) Monkey feet! Hmm... I wonder whats taking Timmy so long!
Mom: (Bites the table making Godzilla noises)
Dad: Now, honey, all that fiber will spoil your appetite.
      Mom: (Growls)
Dad: And I'm just fine with that!

    • Timmy: Awesome! What a totally wicked trip!
Wanda: You mean 'Groovy! What a totally far-out trip!' We're in the 1970's now!
Cosmo: But we were in the 1970's in the 1970's!

    • Cosmo: Let's get one thing straight. I'm not bright, big words confuse me, I have the attention span of a rodent and Wanda loves me anyway! And that should be enough for you!

    • Cosmo: (Reading the card) If I thought it was the styrofoam anniversary and you thought it was the false anger anniversary and I got mad and went home to my mother's house and we both ended up on a game show, what would you say?
      Star: Uh, red?
      Twinkle: Red!

    • Timmy: I'm Cupid.
Cosmo: Okay then I'll be the Easter Bunny! I love eggs!
      Timmy: Focus!

    • Wanda: I hate everything! I hate cats, I hate this day! I'm going to bed....which I hate!

    • Mom: Oh Internet! Breakfast is ready!

    • Timmy: I forgot! I'm the slowest kid in my class! I'm going to lose! I'm so mad...(burns a girl's feet to the ground) I still have Heatvision!

    • Cupid: (With hearts in his eyes, holding a box of chocolates and flowers) Oh, Mama Cosma!

  • NOTES (7)

  • ALLUSIONS (6)

    • The episode, "Father Time" is when Timmy keeps his dad from winning the trophy, but he has to fix what he changed in the future. This is similar to the episode "Masters of all Time" when Danny has to keep Vlad from ever receiving the etco acne. But instead, he has to fix the future so no one gets it.

    • 70's Dance

When past and present Cosmos and Wandas dance it imitates Charles Schulz' Peanuts characters in appearance.

    • Dad: (Cringes in pain) Trophy... sense... tingling!
A reference to Marvel Comic superhero Spiderman, who had a danger sense aptly named "Spider Sense" which 'tingled' every time there was trouble nearby.

    • Wanda: That Billy Gates, with his crazy ideas.
This is referencing Bill Gates, Former Chairman and Chief Software Architect of the Microsoft Corporation.

    • Father Time: Name
This is one of the names used to refer the Titan Chronos of Olympian Pantheon, who could to control Time.

    • Cupid: Welcome to the Fairy Dating Game!
A very blatant knock off of The Dating Game, a popular 1970s game show.
