The title could allude to the late 1990's series on Nickelodeon "The Secret World of Alex Mack" which was about a girl with mysterious powers that she had to keep secret. -
DeLorean:
When Timmy, Cosmo and Wanda travel to the 80's, you see a DeLorean time travel right before they arrive at Dimmsdale University.
The car is of course from the classic 80's movie, Back to the Future. -
Timmy: It's March 15th!!!
It's pretty ironic that Crocker Day is on March 15th, since March 15th is "The Ides of March", the day Julius Caesar was killed back in 44 B.C. It's considered a day of bad luck. -
Crocker: Slideshow Ending
Crocker's slideshow ended with a slide that said 'The End - A Denzel Crocker Production'. This could be a spoof of the slides at the end of all those old Disney films that say, "The End - A Walt Disney Production." -
U-Lug: Reference
In the scene when they see Crocker get his teaching job and Timmy's parents have a moving truck full of girly things, it says U-Lug on the side of the truck. That is a spoof of a moving compony called U-Haul. -
Bumper Sticker: Clinton/Gore
When Timmy goes back to 1992 we see a Clinton-Gore sticker on the bumper of a car just before Timmy bursts through. This is in reference to the election of Clinton who would become president that year and Gore became his vice president. -
Dad: She's a maniac.
Dad says this when Mom is dancing in place then sits down and water splashes on her. This is in reference to the popular 80s movie Flashdance. The song, Maniac was used in that movie. -
Icon: Smiley Face
A smiley face is put on Timmy's shirt so he can blend in to the people of the 70s. The smiley face was created in the 1970s and quickly became a popular icon. The smiley faces are still popular today. -
Cosmo: To the Eighties!
You see a shot of the school in the eighties. In front of the school is the DeLorean from Back to the Future. Right before Timmy, Cosmo, and Wanda get there with the scooter, the car goes into the future and leaves behind flame tracks, just like in the movie. -

This line is a refrence to the song She Blinded Me with Science. -
