  • The Fantastic Four have LOST their powers! Boredom ensues.

This is not a very good episode. Dr. Doom finds a way to miraculously rob the FF of their special abilities, and now they need to determine whether or not they can still cut it as heroes. The only one that gets any real play here is naturally, the Thing. He goes through the predictable angst-driven moments where he realizes that he can now be with his beloved, Alicia Masters. Naturally, this all goes to pot when he is forced to become the Thing once again in order to save his friends.

But the most disappointing element of this episode is the portrayal of guest star, Daredevil. Daredevil is shown as a wisecracking goofball, expressing the sort of (pardon the pun) devil-may-care veneer that one would more expect from a character like Spider-Man. Daredevil from the comics has not embodied that sort of camp for many years now, and I feel that it is an unnecessary disservice to the character.

A fairly worthless episode of an otherwise good show.
