- Quinn Martin had an eye for reliable actors, and he liked to re-use many of them in different roles within a series. However, when an actor was unavailable for a return appearance in a recurring role, this part would be recast. Maybe due to its nine-year run, this became something of a common practice with "The F.B.I.". Another show doing its best to confuse viewers this way is "Law & Order". Edit
