The studio, Screen Rocks Productions, is a a parody of Screen Gems, which was responsible for The Flintstones originally.
There is a blooper in one scene, as Barney is wearing a watch, but when the camera pans back to him, the watch is gone.
A completely revised title sequence featuring Fred coming home from work to take Wilma, Dino and Baby Puss to the movies also debuts this season.
The new theme song, actually a reworking of sad music already composed for one of the episodes, was recorded with five singers (led by Randy Van Horne) and a 22-man jazz band.
The theme song, "(Meet) The Flintstones," written by Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera with music by Hoyt Curtin, makes its debut in this episode although on the DVD version the original music is used.
This episode was recorded on 1-30-62.
This was the first episode to be aired in color during the original run.
The characters of super intelligent and lovable dinosaur Sassie and her impoverished mother and son owners are a spoof on the Lassie TV series, more specifically the period featuring Jon Provost and June Lockhart in the early '60's.
