    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (4)

      • Arnold is 8 years old.

      • Fred has worked at the gravel pit for 12 years. His boss is Mr. Slate, who is not the better-known Mr. Slate. Perhaps this is the later Mr. Slate's father? This Mr. Slate has a nephew, Schuyler Van Slate.

      • How can Fred attend a college class? In "High School Fred" we learned he didn't finish high school!

      • Fred went to Rockville High School, but he never graduated. One of his classmates was Gina Loadabricks (Gina Lollabrigida). Fred was in the classes of '41, '42, '43, '44, and '45.

    • QUOTES (4)

      • Wilma: Why didn't you graduate with your class?
Fred: Well, I was out standing in the hall when they were graduating. I got musclebound from football. Now look at me-- outsmarted by a 10-year-old boy.
        Wilma: Arnold's only eight.
Fred: He couldn't get that sneaky in eight years.

      • (About Fred going to school)
Betty: Aren't you jealous of all those young coeds he'll be sitting next to?
Wilma: No. Fred will be too busy studying figures, et cetera.
Betty: Hmm. That's what he'll be studying, all right. And those et ceteras look great in sweaters.
Wilma: (laughs) Fred? Interested in some skinny young thing in a sweater? (laughs again) Uh... on the other hand, that's how I got him.

      • Barney: Hey, dig those students from Shale! Look at those shoulders, them legs!
Betty: Where? Where? All I see are the girl cheerleaders.
Barney: That's what I'm talking about!

      • Slate: Good boy, Flintstone. I told you I appreciate a man with spunk. You're in line for a bigger job worthy of your talents.
Wilma: Fred, did you hear that?
Fred: A promotion? You mean I'm finally getting out of the hole?
Slate: No, no. No. You can keep your regular job. After 12 years, you're finally getting the hang of it.
