Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • In this episode by mistake Wilma calls Fred "Barney."

    • Dino makes his first appearance in this episode, debunking the theory that he was introduced (as a wisecracking, fully articulate Phil Silvers soundalike) in a later episode from this season, The Snorkasaurus Hunters.

    • When Fred and Barney are fighting over Fred's tv, Wilma starts to talk to Fred. Then when the camera goes back to Fred and Barney, there aren't any knobs on the tv set. Then when it goes back to Wilma, and then back to the TV, there are the 3 knobs from before Wilma first started.

  • QUOTES (8)

    • Fred: Hey kid, did you see a TV set run past here?
      Kid: A TV set running?
Fred: Never mind, kid. I see it.
Kid: Hmph. The more I see of gwown-ups, the more I want to stay being a whittle kid.

    • Fred: Out of my house, you Benedict Whosis.
Barney: But Fred, I'm in the business army now.
Fred: Okay, soldier, retreat! (chases Barney outside) Or they'll be blowing taps for ya.

    • Fred: Hiya, Mr. Boulder.
Mr. Boulder: Good morning, Flintstone. Nice day for golf.
Fred: Mr. Boulder, I want you to meet a friend of mine. This is Barney Rubble.
Mr. Boulder: Good morning, Rubble. And what's your handicap?
Barney: Well, offhand, I'd say my biggest handicap is living next door to Fred.

    • Fred: Get away from that door, Wilma. My chivalry is gettin' thin.
Wilma: And that's the only thing about you that is getting thin.

    • Fred: I need nourishment. I'm a growing man.
Wilma: You're growing all right. You're growing impossible.

    • Barney: You told me to be ruthless, remember?
Fred: Ruthless? You bring this set back or you'll be toothless.

    • Clerk: Raise the right hand and read the oath.
Barney: Neither rain, nor snow, nor threats of tears shall deter this collector from the completion of his contemptible duty.

    • Fred: (notices one tiny fish on his plate, upset) What's the idea? One smelt for dinner?
Wilma: I thought nothing could get you mad, Fred?
Fred: One measly smelt is nothing. And I'm mad.
