    • QUOTES (12)

      • Fred: Barney, sometimes I wonder why I stay friends with you.
Barney: Oh, I don't know, Fred. Unless it's because I'm true-blue, witty, generous, and I let you beat me at bowling!

      • Barney: Um, Fred?
        Fred: Yeah, Barney?
Barney: If, uh, Betty throws me out, will you take me in as a boarder?
Fred: Oh, quit your kidding, Barney.
Barney: Who's kidding? Who's kidding? You know how sore Betty gets when she don't agree with one of your ideas.

      • (Fred is giving Dino a piggyback ride)
Fred: Who ever heard of carrying a pet into the house piggyback?
Wilma: It's just that Dino loves you so much, Fred.
Fred: Yeah, well, I'm gonna train him to hate me a little.

      • Wilma: (thinking) Hmm, he's in a good mood. There'll never be a better time to spring the boarder news.
Fred: (thinking) Hmm, she's in a good mood. There'll never be a better time to spring the boarder news.
(Fred and Wilma try talking to each other at the same time)
Fred: Hold it, hold it! I got news for you. We're gonna take in a boarder. There's no need in having a spare room that's not being used. Now what have you got to say about that?
Wilma: That's a wonderful idea, Fred!
        (Fred is shocked)
Fred: Never. Never, never, never, NEVER WILL I EVER FIGURE OUT WOMEN!

      • Fred: (after meeting Sully) Wilma. Wilma! Oh, Wilma!
Wilma: Uh-oh. The cat's out of the bag.
        Fred: WILMA!
Wilma: Or more accurately, the saber-toothed lion is out of his cage.
        Fred: Wilma, who is that?
Wilma: Uh, who is what, dear?
Fred: The guy sitting on our bed, making all that racket.
Wilma: Why, that's our new boarder, silly. Don't tell me you can't remember suggesting a boarder.
Fred: Oh, yeah. That's right. I did suggest a boarder. But I didn't suggest him!

      • Fred: Watch this, Barney. A ring-first strike off the backboard. Yabba-Dabba-Doo!
        (Fred bowls a perfect strike)
Barney: Hey, that's a pretty good shot, Fred.
Fred: There's nothing to it. I just think of those pins as bongo drums and I can't miss.

      • Wilma: I've got two swiss brontosaurus steaks tonight. Dig in, boys.
Sully: (takes the larger steak) Excuse me, Mr. Flintstone.
Fred: Hey, what's the idea taking the big piece?
        Sully: I'm a growing boy.
Fred: Well, you're not gonna grow any older if you pull that stuff. (grabs Sully's throat) Now put that steak back!
Sully: Help! Mrs. Flintstone! He's at it again!
Wilma: Stop that, Fred! You'll make Sully late for work.
Fred: I'd like to make Sully late for his next birthday.

      • Fred: I'm telling you, Barney, I can't take much more of this. I've been on a diet ever since that Sully kid has been in our house. I didn't plan it, it just worked out that way.
Barney: I know how you feel, Fred. Things are the same at my house. Ho-ho, but it's only for ten more days.
Fred: Seems more like ten more years.

      • (Wilma dances over to Fred, gives him his dinner, then dances away)
Fred: Okay, hold it. Hold it.
        Wilma: (stops dancing) Yes, Fred?
Fred: What's with the floor show?
Wilma: Nothing, Fred. I just feel happy. (continues dancing away)
Fred: Happy, huh? Let me tell you something, Wilma, if you get any happier, the happy wagon'll back up to the door for you.

      • Fred: Come to think of it, I'm happy myself tonight. This is my first meal without Sully around.
        (Sully enters)
        Sully: Hiya, Mr. Flintstone.
(Sully rushes over and begins munching on Fred's drumstick)
(Wilma continues dancing until she hears a loud crash)
Sully: (with a cracked plate on his head) Mrs. Flintstone! He did it again!

      • Wilma: Are you sure you won't stay longer?
Sully: Uh, no thanks, Mrs. Flintstone. A deal's a deal. Besides, Mr. Flintstone doesn't like me.
Wilma: Oh, you're wrong. He just has trouble showing it.
        (Fred and Barney arrive home)
Fred: Ah-ha! There they are. Out, you guys! Hit the bricks! Out! Out! Out!
Sully: You're right, Mrs. Flintstone. He has a real tough time showing it.

      • (After winning the contest, Wilma and Betty return home to find Fred and Barney playing the piano and bongo drums)
        Wilma: Fred!
        Betty: Barney!
        Wilma: What are you doing?
Fred: Well, I figured that since you gals won tonight, Barney and I'll be a cinch to win next year's show with the act we'll work up. Hit it, Barney-boy!
        (Fred and Barney continue playing)
        Wilma: A year of this?
Betty: Don't worry, Wilma. You'll be dispossessed in a week.
        Wilma: I can hardly wait.
        Wilma and Betty: Men!
