  • Ah, That Classic Episode Where Pebbles is Born!

    10
As I said in the headline, this is The Flintstones episode where Pebbles is born. Fred is extremely nervous about this birth, as he's in a nervous wreck about Wilma going into labor. What I loved the most about this episode is how funny Hanna-Barbera made in handling the birth. For one thing, we did not see Wilma have any labor pains. Possibly because they had already taken risks at having a expecting wife on animated TV, and they didn't want to overdo it in 1960's TV filled with extreme morale. But the good news is, the quietness of Pebbles' birth is so entertaining and memorable that you don't care that Wilma did not have any labor pains. Plus it was extremely funny to see everyone's reactions in taking Wilma to the hospital. And that dress rehearsal scene is worth it alone! Another memorable Flintstones episode!moreless
  • The birth of Pebbles!

    8.0
Pebbles enters into the life of the flintstones in this epiisode where wilma was taken to the hospital by Fred and Barney. that epiuosde reminds me of the "I Love Lucy" epiosde which Lucy went into labor and everybody was in a panic mode. What I like about this epiosde is that Pebbles came in in a very quiet manner. No labor pains from Wilma. This is the first episode that a animated character was born on TV. This is an landmark epiosode. Before that, there were many smoking commerical. since Pebbles' arrival the smoking were replaced with Welches. From now on "The flintstones" became a family show.moreless

  • NOTES (2)

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • The scene where Fred, Barney, and Betty rehearse getting Wilma to the hospital (with Barney playing Wilma) and calling the doctor when Pebbles is born, is exactly the same as the I Love Lucy episode where Ricky, Fred, and Ethel rehearse getting Lucy to the hospital when Little Ricky is born.
