At the Italian restaurant, some teenagers put a nickel in the jukebox. They play the 4 Insects tune which goes...

"I said yeah yeah yeah. He said yeah yeah yeah. She said yeah yeah yeah, whee!"

The Hatrocks disliked bug music & shot the jukebox down until the bird needle gave up.

So, the Flintstones & Rubbles set a trap singing that song while the Hatrocks threw a hissy fit! Then they go over to the Gruesomes to find them performing that tune (in Beatle type wigs). It was the last straw when they found Pebbles, Dino, Bamm-Bamm & Hoppy doing the tune!

The Hatrocks vamoosed over to the World's Fair to find a Billboard that The 4 Insects were going to be there! Back to Arkanstone they went!moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (4)

    • The Gruesomes have an Uncle Ghastly who lives in a well.

    • The Hatrocks are fans of a country musician named Clem Cladiddlerock, whose name is based upon a Red Skelton character.

    • Although the 4 Insects and their "bug" music are supposed to be a parody of the Beatles, the style of guitar playing is actually surf guitar.

    • During this episode, the Flintstones and the Rubbles complain about not having any place to sit down inside, and about not being able to watch television because the Hatrocks are hogging everything at the Flintstone's house. Why don't the Flintstones and the Rubbles just go over to the Rubbles' house?

  • QUOTES (3)

    • Barney: Eat up, folks. There's plenty more.
Fred: Thanks for the food, pal. You saved my life. I tell you, those Hatrocks eat like a herd of locusts.
Wilma: I never saw such appetites. The only thing left in the icebox is a half a head of lettuce.
Jethro: Hey, Flintstone, you got any more of that there fancy shaving cream?
Fred: Why? Don't tell me you're going to shave again.
Jethro: Nope. It's for Granny. She says it goes great on lettuce.
Wilma: Well, that takes care of the lettuce.

    • Fred: Now look here, you.
Jethro: Well, lookee who's here. If it ain't our horsepitable host. It ain't going to be easy saying goodbye to you tomorrow, Freddie boy.
      Fred: Huh?
Jethro: Yep. We're pushing off tomorry.
Fred: Well, has it been a week already? Time sure flies.
Jethro: Yep, much as we hate to leave you, we's just got to catch the world's fair.
Zack: Got to get there 'fore the fair closes.
Fred: Oh, well, you don't have to worry about that. The fair's going to be there for two more years yet.
      Jethro: You mean that?
      Fred: Well, I--I--ee--that is--
Jethro: Well, then, there ain't no rush at all. We can stay till Hog Branding Time.
Fred: Did you say Hog Branding Time?
Jethro: That's correct. Hog Branding Time.
Fred: Oh. Oh, yeah. Hog Branding Time.
      (Fred walks over to Wilma)
Wilma: Did you tell them off? When are they leaving?
Fred: I-I don't know. When is Hog Branding Time?
Wilma: Hog Branding Time? I don't know when it is, but it doesn't sound like tomorrow.
Fred: I was afraid of that.

    • Weirdly Gruesome: Ah, Creepella, my dear, you don't look at all well today.
      Creepella Gruesome: Oh, thank you.
Fred: Yeah, you look a little frightening.
Creepella Gruesome: Oh, you men with your flattery.

  • NOTES (1)

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • The song that Fred, Wilma, Barney, Betty, Pebbles, Bamm Bamm, Dino, Hoppy, and the Gruesomes sing "She Said Yeah Yeah Yeah" is an obvious takeoff of The Beatles' "She Loves You".
