    • Fred: Sit down and relax, Barney. You're making me nervous.
Barney: Sit where, Fred? The finance company took back all the furniture, remember?
Fred: Oh, we'll get it back, partner, as soon as we land our first case.
Barney: But when will that be? We've been in the private eye racket for 3 weeks now, and the only one that came through the door was a drunk driver.
Fred: Yeah. I thought for a minute we had a client till he drove right by and out the window.

  • NOTES (3)

    • This was the first episode that Mel Blanc worked on after his near-fatal auto accident, over two months before. Joe Barbera arranged for a portable recording studio to be set up in Mel's bedroom, with a boom microphone suspended over Mel's face so that he could record his dialogue with the cast, while encased in a full body cast, lying on a special hospital bed. He recorded episodes for an entire year this way...

    • The theme music from The Alfred Hitchcock Show is briefly played.
