The scene where Barney has a mishap with a harpoon gun is a shot-by-shot remake of the unaired pilot episode, "The Flagstones".
The only episode where Wilma wore shoes.
Fred: (shouting) Wilma!
Wilma: Sounds like the call of the male gripe-o-saurus.
(Wilma and Betty are talking)
Fred: (floating on an inner tube in the pool) Wilma!
Wilma: I'll be right back. I gotta go feed the fish.
Wilma: Where do you want it, Fred?
Fred: Set it down where I can reach it.
Wilma: (sets the plate on Fred's stomach) And remember, if you sink don't let my best dishes go down with the ship.
Wilma: What did you buy?
Fred: A couple of dinosaur steaks, New York cut, two inches thick. (pokes his hand through the bag and comes out empty) Huh?
Wilma: They look a little stringy to me.
Fred: Don't be a wise guy, they're gone!
Barney: I'm gonna practise spear fishing.
Fred: You can't lose. You'll spear them or they'll die laughing.
(Fred argues with Barney because of two missing steaks)
Wilma: Fred. I found your steaks right here on the wall. You owe Barney an apology.
Barney: Yeah, say you're sorry and let me have them. (refers to his own steaks)
Fred: I'm sorry and I let you have both of them. (he crashes Barney's steaks onto his head)
Barney: What's that for?
Fred: That's for the next thing you do wrong.
This episode was recorded on 4-1-60.
''The Swimming Pool" was the pilot that sold the show, but since Fred and Barney fought a lot on that one, ABC didn't want that to be America's introduction to the characters, so The Flintstone Flyer was shown instead and moved "The Swimming Pool" to the third week.
Daws Butler has also been credited as the voice of the second policeman.
This was the first episode to be recorded.
