'Victor Charlie Charlie' to 'Mike Sierra Foxtrot' Do you read me? This is the familiar radio call for the The Flying Doctors, the internationally successful Australian drama that ran for six years between 1986 to 1992. Set in the fictional town of Coopers Crossing, it deals with the highs and lows of the daily lives of the town's folk.

The six season run saw a succession of faces join and leave the Crossing but the show never waned in its popularity. This small band of doctors and nurses responded to around the clock calls from isolated stations and townships across the great Australian outback treating everything from snake bites to heat stroke, childbirth to brain surgery and often in near possible conditions.moreless

The best show I've ever seen, still love it!

Even though the show is quite old, it still is a pleasure to watch. The story is good to follow and the actors and script is perfect! Who wouldn't want to live in Coopers Crossing? The show still has fan clubs in Holland and Germany. Hope this show is repeated some time...

dont you just LOOOOOVE this serie..! yeah you must! because it is one of the best tv shows ever made! beautiful landscape, views.. so on..

and not to speak of the people..!? if i were a little older i would totally marry Geoff Standisch(robert grubb)..! HAHA

I am so glad that repeats of this series are being aired again here in Australia. I grew up watching this show. I had my first crush (I was 7 when Sam Patterson first hit the screens) and wanted to be a mechanic like Emma. This was a show that had an influence on a lot of people. It wasn't afraid to tackle tough issues like HIV and teenage pregnancy (both rather taboo still in the eighties). The characters were loveable, but also fallible. If you want to laugh, cry and enjoy the scenery of the real outback Australia, then this is the show for you. If they would only release it on DVD, so we could enjoy it as much as we wanted.moreless

THE best australian drama serial to come out of australia in 1986 and continued to shine until the series ended in 1992 .big miss from tv screens even today all around the world. would love to see a mini revival but doubt ever happen. but who knows .moreless

this has to be the best australian medical drama serial to come out of australia which has remained popular from the day it was first aired and still has millions of fans today 15 years after the series ended .

top characters and thoroughly strong storylines each time romance intrigue and medical drama of top quality plus the scenery made for one top quality tv drama .

the will they wont they get together stories with dr geoff and sister kate kept us all on the edge of our seats and when they married there was not a dry eye about.moreless

I get a funny feeling whenever I watch The Flying Doctors on tv. It sends a chill up my spine in a way that I can't quite describe. This time, it's no exception. When I picked this up during my visit to Blockbuster, I knew I was in for a treat as I have been so many times felt before. I was right! If you haven't gotten this yet, beg, steal, buy or do whatever you need to get it. You won't regret it.
