i cannot believe that this wasn't axed

Without a doubt one of the worst shows I've seen in years. The writing is lazy and stupid at every turn and the complete disregard for detail is astounding. Two of the central characters themes are simply, get caught, escape, get caught again, escape again, get caught again. Keven Bacon's character's theme is chase the bad guys on his own while never calling for backup, and then catch the bad guys before ultimately having to give up his weapon before the bad guys plot holes are numerous and huge, and each and every time the writers need to "sell" a preposterous twist to its audience, some random person is revealed as a cult member. Law enforcement is portrayed as a collective of bumbling buffoons at every turn, a clear indicator that the writers are clueless as to how to have their cult characters elude their predators by outsmarting them. I could go on and on and on. Glad that I didn't review this show after the pilot episode, I likely would have given it an 8 or better. I imagine that's why this show has a relatively decent overall rating as many reviews were favorable after just one episode. Terribly ridiculous and disappointing show.

This show is possibly the stupidest attempt at a thriller that I've ever seen. Just watched the first half of the season and gave up half way through another episode of FBI incompetence. I'm normally very encouraging of new shows and try to give them a season or so to get on track but this is so bad I just can't watch any more. You can only suspend belief so far...

the show is pretty nice & new! its better than other boring shows which talk about the same scenario and all.. this show brings something new which we missed.. love it and my rating is 10/10

While yes I've tuned in every week endlessly to see what was next, this show really hit me in the head after the episode "Guilt". If you haven't seen it, good. Don't. Please. And, "The Final Chapter"? It was, meh. At best, okay. Not a spectacular finale that you would expect. However though, we do have Kevin Bacon and Nico Tortelli as some amazing bright spots! Sadly, they killed off Nico (Jacob) for seemingly no god damn reason. The Following me always has me scratching my head, but I always come back to it. Let's see if things pick up next season.

I was septic at the beginning but more you watch more you get addicted. I like the "lone ranger" style of beacon

I had good expectations on this show. Here in Brazil the biggest Tv network made a huge "noise" about this show. I am really disappointed. This show turns worse at every chapter, so unrealistic, seems to make us feel stupid. Acceptable only for Kevin Bacon performance. A second season would be a waste of time and patience.

I think if I was in TV land and someone I knew went missing, given the choice betwen the FBI on The Following and Ace Ventura pet detective, I would take Ace.

How it it possible that the bad guys always get away in this show.

I really want to love this show, I really like Kevin Bacon, and the acting is pretty good,but most TV shows push the limit of what is believable or even possible, but this show makes Ghostbuster look like the evening news(Not Fox news, the real news)

Got bored after episode 7. And from what I heard it got worse. Good thing I stopped!

I know the inclination for readers is to say "Then don't watch". But my disappointment is such that I couldn't help but comment. I finally had to stop last week's show midway due to yet another all-too-common FBI blunder. I'd be nervous as he11 if our real-life law enforcement were that inept and unprepared. I really like Kevin Bacon but these continuous unrealistic actions really fray the nerves of logical viewers. And I guess I just like the 'good guy' to win too much to want to watch continued ineptitude and a never-ending story of human indecency. Thanks for 'listening'. :)

I don't know what people are complaining and why they are complaining. If you don't like, take your remote and switch. This show is great !

I like the premise and many of the characters, but the situations the police/FBI get themselves into are so utterly unrealistic I find myself in the same boat as Beyoungs. This should be a one season show.

The evac center scene: No way any law enforcement agency would wander around a room full of potential nut jobs hoping to identify "odd behavior".

This is just one of many tactically unrealistic is why the show has lost me as a "Follower"

The keystone cop routine gets old. One season only, please.

I see that many people here don't like the show, and we can all say what we think and feel on here, this show is better than many of the shows that are on right now and I look forward to watching it each week.

This show is so stupid and annoying, I have several episodes recorded and can't bring myself to watch them. Can't believe this has been renewed with so many good shows falling by the wayside.

Each week the plot gets more ridiculous. Now I just watch it for a good laugh.

although i tend to agree with alot of comments here ( pointing out some of the negatives of the show and making a big deal out of them ) i really think at the end of the day that the show is a great production it provides entertainment for me and my friends who watch it. Cast is great. directors did a great job too. However The Story has alot of flaws albeit the good main in all I find it very entertaining and i will be tuning in for as long as it lasts.

I really do not get the reviews with 1.0 or 2.0 rating. I understand people not liking it but seriously ? 1.0 ???? ... if i hated a show that much i wouldnt review it cause i would refuse to watch it !

as far as calling it Unrealistic I cant see any of the shows being too realistic with the exception of very the whole point when i want to get entertained. i live reality on the news or my every day life...

EXCELLENT SHOW,,, ONE OF THE BEST EVER AIRED ON TELEVISION.. AMAZING IN EVERY WAY, CASTING, STORY LINE. I WISH IT WOULD NEVER BE OVER!!!!!

This show is unrealistic . The FBI would not make this many mistakes.. The writers need to step it up or this show will most likely be canceled. There are a lot of sick people in our country. You people give the FBI a very bad name. The FBI keeps our country safe and an FBI agent would never give up his gun for any reason.

Killing , killing and more killing. Do we really need shows like this in light of almost daily mass shootings, bombings and destruction? Is this what we need to turn on to escape the reality of our world falling apart? I say no. Now it's all about cults and seriel killers. What next a show about people going into schools shooting innocent children ? We need more laughter and happinessin the world and less death and destruction. I had to turn this show off a number of times it was too graphic.

The show started off so good, but has gotten so bad. Such a disappointment, not sure if I can even keep watching. Such a disconnect that it might has just become terrible. Leave it to FOX

The story could've been a great movie though ...



The show IS renewed and the concept from the start was to have Kevin Bacon/The FBI fight one major villain throughout an entire season. Having a cult leader as the main villain is kinda a cheat here, if you ask me, but the basic concept IS a good idea. Let's hope they're up to something which is sustainable and not as random as a story we have here.

I just don't understand... good actors, a great beginning and now what have we got? a stupid show where you HOPE the good guys are going to get killed... come on, they are SO dumb it's showing mercy than getting rid of them. Kevin Bacon keeps doing everything he can to make sure everybody around him gets shot, wounded or killed... How are we supposed to believe the FBI, the CIA, the cops and the journalists are unable to locate a serial killer who lives in a big house, keeps appearing everywhere around town and is shown on every TV around the country? ... too bad I REALLY wanted to love that show... but that's it... I'm done watching...

My love for Kevin Bacon has kept me looking at this sickness that passes for TV until now but even that is not strong enough to make me look at one more minute of this soulless crap. I just pray that it does not spawn any copycats.

I am still giving this show a chance although every time i watch it's becoming even worst.

the actors are good and the script is just horrible.

First of all,I loved the cast and the idea of the show from the get go. The script writers have failed us miserably though,as most major net works show seem too(Alcatraz anyone?). sure at some point in the show Joe Carroll is gonna get his hands on a drone before the FBI. Such a waste.

I really wanted to love this show. It has Kevin Bacon and it was marketed well. The pilot was good and had me interested. Then as each episode aired it got dumber and dumber and dumber. Even a child could see what was coming. I'm done with this trash. Amazing how crap like this gets renewed.

This show is way too predictable, and the characters are unrealistic. To watch this show people have to make way too many assumptions about how the cult surrounding Joe formed. Good thing Fox picked this up, so we wouldn't have worry about them keeping the show on even if it became a hit. This show is hard to watch because of how unrealistic it is. You cant have a suspense if you cant invest in the show.

This show is a pathetic attempt at creating the new lost. People aren't going to fall for the same trick again, and I doubt this show has an ending written that would allow it to survive for more than two seasons. In my opinion they should scrap this show and attempt to create a realistic suspense show.

The sad thing is that a show set post zombie Apocalypse is way more believable than this garbage.

If Fox keeps this garbage on after throwing away countless good shows... My goodness...

Why would a network scrap shows like Firefly and Prison Break for shows like this...

What a shame that after such a great start, this show has turned into such a predictable mess!!!! I've watched 10 episodes but don't think I can watch another..... it's just too painful.



I hope the FBI isn't really as inept as they are portrayed in this show. If so, we're spending a lot of taxpayer dollars on a bunch of morons....
