TV.com Episode Review

  • The Following "Welcome Home" Review: Oh, Right. Consequences.

This episode was by no means perfect, but its display of consequences, small bit of humor, and setting of the table for a schism at least provide a faint glimmer of hope.

    • Who knew it was a comedy?

For a while it just annoyed me when each episode got progressively more absurd. But finally, the writers have revealed their fiendish secret: they're working for funnieordie! (No pun intended ) I was giggling like a fool by the end. I mean, seriously, how did James Purefoy and Tom Lipinski keep straight faces during that I'm-yours-kill-me scene? Chuck Lorre obviously took over as head writer and nobody told us.

What is it with gratuitous violence and killing on screen for "love"??? What happened to any sense of morality and story telling that the makers of this disgusting piece of filth and pornography of violence may have ever had?? Is this what they think Americans want? They are very mistaken. I just wish Kevin Bacon and Aaron Ashmore would quit the show now. The end to this episode was utterly disgusting.moreless
    • I simply like it

I 've read all the negative reviews. Have to say this episode was not one of the best and the last 10 mins were a bit funny but I like the plot and when watching series I am never expecting links to reality (is this scene possible??). I do not care, what I care of is if the plot keeps me watching and The Following does. I'll keep watching it. Ciao!moreless
    • It Get's My Blood Pumping...

      2.0
because I can't believe the level of gullibility they expect from their audience. I've got it, it's fiction, but really, three twenty-somethings escape from a home surrounded by local police, tactical units, helicopters by just running through the woods and driving away, with a 10 year old kid in tow. Because tactical units always assume someone walking up behind them is a good guy. "Gosh, what are you doing wandering around out here in the woods in the middle of our takedown??" Then last week, half the guards in a prison are apparently in on a scheme to let a serial killer with 14 kills to his name just walk away. Right. And then this week. why don't you and I just drive over to where a team of kidnappers who have kidnapped an FBI agent are holding him hostage. "This is the vehicle" but let's not put a knife in all four tires to disable it or maybe call in every cop within a 20 mile radius or maybe leave one person outside to ambush whoever comes out.

I really wanted to like this show but it's reached the point where it just strains credulity. Here's a plot idea they missed - when the lawyer had Joe locked in the trunk of her BMW, she drives to the nearest dock, gets out, puts the car in gear and watches it sink into 20 feet of water while screaming "Up Your's Joe you piece of crap! Who's getting the finger now!!" Or how about this one - Joe: "Ryan, you have no ideal how many of us there are and what we're Ryan: "Damn Joe, sounds like you're masterminding a terrorist plot, welcome to Guantanamo!"

      Whatever.moreless
    • I Quit

      1.0
Done. I'm done, removing the season pass on my dvr. The most horrible, ridiculous, unimaginative show ever. Leaders of cult groups never get involved, only as giving orders. Joe getting drunk, killing one of his followers, just stupid!!
