Just days after the mass shooting in an Orlando gay nightclub traumatized the country, The Fosters will air a special PSA ahead of its Season 4 premiere on Monday—which coincidentally centers on a school shooting.
Freeform confirmed to TV.com that Fosters stars Cierra Ramirez and Sherri Saum will deliver a special message dedicated to the victims of the Orlando attack before the episode airs. The premiere and second episode of the season, scheduled before the Orlando incident became the worst mass shooting in American history, will tackle gun violence and the trauma after Mariana's (Ramirez) boyfriend Nick (Louis Hunter) steals his father's gun and brings it to school.

The Fosters takes on school shootings and gun violence in its two-part Season 4 premiere later this month, and TV.com has the first look photos of a harrowing scene, in which a SWAT has Anchor Beach on lockdown.

The ramifications of Nick's actions will echo throughout the season as everyone ...Read more
The season premiere of The Fostersstarts off with a bang... and that's before anyone realizes that Nick (Louis Hunter) has a gun. The episode picks up moments after the Season 3 finale, with Stef (Teri Polo) and Lena (Sherri Saum) reeling from Callie's (Maia Mitchell) confession that she and Brandon (David Lambert) slept together.
But that's just the tip of the iceberg. "Some other secrets have to come out -- it's not just the one thing," executive producer Joanna Johnson teases. "[Stef and Lena] are blown away and blindsided. They also feel betrayed. They feel like the trust they put into Brandon and Callie was clearly for naught."
