AIRED:
Ella joins Frank for thirty minutes of great music on this installment of Sinatra's short-lived Friday night series. She sings "April In Paris," "Angel Eyes," and "When You're Smiling." Sinatra offers "Jeepers Creepers," "On the Road to Mandalay," and "We'll Be Together Again." Together they sing "Moonlight in Vermont" and a swingin' version of "I May Be Wrong."moreless

  • This is a great special. In addition to the songs listed already they close the show with Party Blues (credited as adlib) and duet on Put Your Dreams Away.

If your going to see any special from the 1958 period this would be it. Ella's voice was at it's peak as well as Frank still being with Capital. Both voices tremendous and the way they get along is priceless. So sit back and enjoy the entertainment of two showbiz legends. From Frank's clowning around with Ella.. To the tender sounds of ballads. Listen to Ella swing on April in Paris and Frank say "One More Time!" in place where Basie says it on the album. Road To Mandalay swings solid and Angel Eyes by Ella which was featured on the documentary "Something To Live For" on PBS.moreless
