  • Ashley's commerical

    7.5
It's back again. And back to the storyline. When Phillp tried to enter politics, Ashley got a modeling contract. It did not start the best for her but this time she gets a chance to be in a commercial. She hopes this will turn into getting into a big school in New York. Phillp is opposed to the move and against the commercial all together when Will describes what's in it. Speaking as a single guy, I don't think what she wore was that bad. It shows how beautiful she has become. How Will reacted was like when he went on a double date with Ashley on Valentine's day. I also think that what Ashley wore when she was a signer and performed at the Peacock. I did like that Ashley never got a big head but maybe it's because what she went through as a signer. I also liked how Phillp stood up for Ashley. It remained me of the the time he stood up for her in season 1 when she had a problem with the bully. The second story while good but could've been longer. It was funny that they blamed Will. It's too bad you never got to see the end result.

This was a fine episode and in the home stretch of the ending of the series.moreless

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Will: Nicky, have I ever kept you from fulfilling your dreams?
      Nicky: Not too many.
Will: And you wouldn't call me narrow minded would you?
Nicky: You don't get it do you? I'm 5, you dork!

    • Will: I ain't tryin' ta be lookin' at that horse all day man. Now just watch some TV, and take you're mind off of it.
      (Will turns on the television)
Voice on TV: Hello. I'm Mr.Ed.
      (Carlton cries)
      Carlton: You Bastard!

    • Philip: Vivian, tell Ashley she's too young to move to New York.
Vivian: I moved out of the horse when I was 14.
      Philip: Horse?
Vivian: House, I moved out of the house. I'm going now.

    • Will: That commercial was degrading.
Ashley: Oh really? Which part did you find degrading, Will? The part where I'm in clothes driving? The part where I'm in sweats drinking the cola? No, the only part you noticed was the 7 seconds I'm playing volleyball in a bathing suit. I play volleyball in a bathing suit all the time, is that degrading?

    • Hilary: What's gonna happen to us if daddy finds out there is a horse in the backyard?
Carlton: He'll blame Will like he always does.

    • Will: Hey! You are the king of the jungle Mufasa!
Philip: Yes, I am the king of the jungle!
Will: You rule all over that you survey.
Philip: I rule all over that I survey!
      Will: You WILL be obeyed!
      Philip: I WILL be obeyed!
      (Ashley walks by)
Philip: Hi Ashley you're looking awfully pretty today. You think I'm still being too hard on her?
Will: Man you ain't nothing but Simba.

  • NOTES (1)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • Will: You are the King of The Jungle Mufasa ... You Ain't Nothing But Simba.
This is a reference to Disney Animated Film, The Lion King. Will refers to Uncle Phil as Mufasa when he is motivating him to be tough on Ashley just like Mufasa was tough with his son, Simba, when he disobeyed him. But when Phil sees Ashley he act's like he's scared of her, which is why it lead to Will calling him Simba.

    • Nicky: Mom and dad won't let me watch Bad Boys.
Will Smith stars in this film as well as in the show.
