  • A sweet surprise on Geoffrey's birthday

I found this episode to be one of my favorites from the first season. There was just so many good things in this episode. I really loved how it was supposed to be a grandmother but turns out to be somebody around Will's age. I loved seeing Will flirt with her and the restaurant.

Something that this show does well is it focuses on all characters and gives them each their own episode. Even butler Geoffrey does get an episode, not just background moments. I found this episode funny, the plot to be good and the acting, as always, just brilliantmoreless
  • G's Birthday

I liked this episode. While this is not a bad episode, I think the ending made it better. Like in the Halloween episode another side of another character was exposed, this time Geoffry. What I liked was that it was not a total shock seeing this side because in previous episodes they (meaning the producers) showed little bits of it. I enjoyed seeing Hilary trying to be nice to Geoffry. The best part was probably the ending. Seeing Geoffry talk to Will about what a birthday is like to him was what made this episode better. When he said William instead of Master of William was done in a way as stern but in no way disrespectful. I also liked when Will talked to the camera at the end something that is common in this series. A good episode with some laughs.moreless

The older episodes of The Fresh Prince of Bel-air were kind of an acquired taste; you either loved them or you did not like them. As the show progressed things definitely got faster, the pace definitely picked up, but the humor became less original and more character-based.

But having watched this episode I would have loved some character-based humor. Tonight's episode focused on Geoffrey, and since this was not an episode of Benson, a show revolving around the butler of the household was not going to be interesting. A part from a few Carlton lines and Will's bizarre dancing in the beginning I don't even think I laughed at all.moreless

This episode is exactly why I watch the series, and it was what convinced my brother to watch it as well. Will sets Geoffrey up on a blind date with a British nanny for his birthday, but when he sees her, he wants her. I thought it was funny to see Will teach Geoffrey how to act cool and young, and I liked how Hilary couldn't wrap her own present for Geoffrey, and when Carlton and Ashley gave him an English muffin. The ending was also good. Will began to think about how he always assumed things about Geoffrey without knowing him, and it was funny how they put some sappy music on. Will shoves him out of the way to call Helen. A very good episode.moreless
