  • The only episode with the extended family that actually works

    9.0
Up until now I've been extremely bored by all family episodes but this one actually works. It features less story and more comedy, even for those family relatives we don't know much about. It also has the emotional backstory to Will's mother, when we see how her life is without Will. There was also a funny dream with Will in his 70's!

This episode made me easily connect with Will's mother unlike any other previous episode where it was all about her.moreless
  • A Family Reunion

    8.5
This was a very good episode with only a fem moments that could be different. First, too bad there was no Bobby and the man playing Frank was a different guy. However I understand the actors were probably busy especially the guy who originally played Frank. Those were only minor complaints. I have always liked seeing groups of people, especially when they are related. Everyone in the family was great. I especially liked the older couple. Will has always had a good relationship with his mother, even with the distance between them. I like how Will stood up to her but was not being mean to her. The dream he had that would happen if he lived with her was funny. I also liked Phillp saying that he would pay for WIll's college. only to ask for more pie. I also liked how the family was listening on to Will and his mother's conservation. Overall this was a nice family episode.moreless

It’s family reunion at the Banks’ mansion and Vy reveals that she assumes Will will come back to live in Philly after Graduation (bad news for both Will Smith and fans of the Fresh Prince since there will be no more show).

But fortunately Will stands up and admits that Bel Air is the best thing that ever happened to him and thus the Fresh Prince lives. This episode was very entertaining and is both humorous with eavesdropping and character developing of both Vy and Will which is surprising this late in the series for development to still occur.

Overall, this episode is great fun and shows how Will is fitting in with the family.moreless

    • Philip: (after his talk with Will) Okay, Vivian. I told him everything you wanted me to. Now, gimme my piece of pie.

    • Carlton: I'm never drivin' in a car with Uncle Lou and Aunt Eleanor again.
      Vivian: Well, honey, what happened?
Carlton: Well, they were blastin' the radio, stickin' their heads through the sun roof, and yelling at other cars. When they weren't doin' that, they were making out. I mean, when are those 2 gonna grow up?!!

    • Geoffrey: (about Vivian) Sir, when she's not looking, break one of the crystal figurines. It'll work wonders for your attitude.
(he and Philip enter the living room, and the sound of a crystal figuring shattering is heard)
      Philip: YES!!

    • Geoffrey: Enjoying the reunion Master Williams?
      (Hilary walks in)
Will: Yeah, I don't know what to do G. I mean I don't want to move back to Philly. But, I don't want to let my mom down. But, then on the other hand...
Geoffrey: I'm so terribly sorry Master William. There's been a misunderstanding. Apparently, I gave you the impression that I really wanted to know.

    • Frank: You look a little tired. Why don't you lay down and I'll rub your feet for a little while.
      Janice: Thanks baby.
Frank wraps his arm around Janice and they walk off together
Helen: That does it! I'm getting me a white man.

    • Frank: Hey you know Vi, I have a brother who's single. Although, he's not a brother. I mean he is a brother because he's my brother, but he' s just not your kind of brother.
      (everyone stares at Frank)
Frank: Oh, brother! Help me, Will.
Will: No, I think I'll stick with the black folks on this one.
