  • A rare stop on the road where Dr. Kimble stayed too long.

    4.0
It's funny that an episode called "Where the Action Is" would be so dull. In the first truly bad episode of "The Fugitive" that I've come across, Kimble is dropped in the middle of a family dispute that isn't all that interesting to begin with, and our hero doesn't add any drama to the mix.

A promising guest turn by Telly Savalas is utterly wasted and the episode is wrecked thanks to a whiny Joanne Frank as the damsel in distress of the week. Her Chris Polichek is spoiled, selfish, a drunk and a liar. The script works hard to try to elicit audience sympathy for her, but fails. The character never gives Kimble a reason to go along with her in the first place, much less to have him hang around to discover the "root" of her behavior. Janssen, as always, does his noble best, but even he can't do much with a script that relegates Kimble to observing or listening in on other conversations for most of the episode.

Kimble cannot get out of Reno soon enough. One unintentionally funny note - the "punks" Kimble tosses out of the hotel pool in Act I are some of the biggest squares this side of Ned Flanders. It's funny to see how attitudes have changed since the show originally aired.moreless
