The Full Wax

Show Summary

The Full Wax is a comedic talk show that originally aired on BBC from January 19, 1991 to June 10, 1993. It is directed by Ed Bye and Peter Cattaneo. The writer and hostess is Ruby Wax, an America comedian who is well-known in Britain. Each of the three seasons of the series consists of six original episodes. Seasons two and three also have two compilation episodes, providing a total of 22 episodes for the series. Ruby Wax interviews celebrities using her on-screen persona of a brash, stereotypical American star. Her assistants are Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley, who play the part of inept, star-struck assistants. Saunders and Lumley are also successful comedians in their own right during this series. The first episode features an interview with Zsa-Zsa Gabor. Saunders appears pregnant and attempts to serve coffee to Gabor and Wax, while trying not to stare at Gabor. Additional guests on the series include Danny Devito, Billy Crystal and Joan Rivers.
