The Fun Factory

Show Summary

From the company that brought you Dealer's Choice & The Diamond Head Game, comes this short lived crazy game show. Bobby Van hosted (& sang the opening theme). Contestants were chosen to do crazy stunts or guessing games for cash & prizes. The top three winners then competed in a numerical guess contest. Three statements were made (IE: How old the Statue of Liberty is, the number of presidents & how many years The Today Show has been on). Each player secretly wrote his/her answer down. The one that comes the closest to the answer (over or under) won the prize package. But, (ala TPIR's Double Showcase) if they are 10 or less off (over or under), the player also wins a new car! Also part of The Fun Factory were some actors that participated in sketches. One character was a ugly looking housewife, played by future Hill Street Blues star, Betty Thomas! ANSWER (as of 1976): Statue of Liberty (90) + Presidents (38) + Today Show (24) = 152moreless
