The G. E. College Bowl

Show Summary

Sunday afternoon quiz show, sponsored by the General Electric Company. Two teams of four players from different colleges or universities played for bonus questions ranging from 20 to 35 points by answering 10 point toss-up questions correctly. An incorrect answer on a toss-up question penalized the team 5 points and the question went over to the other team. The object was to score more points than the other team to win a $1500 scholarship grant, and the winning team came back to defend its title each time it won. The losing team would receive a $500 scholarship grant. If a team won five games, it retired as champions.
