Although The Sabers lose their game and are eliminated from the playoffs, Derwins performance earns him the attention of a high-profile manager. Melanie is shocked when Derwin considers a proposal that he be traded to a Chicago team. Meanwhile, Malik, taking the game loss really hard, decides to write a rap to vent his feelings, and Kelly and Jason try to hide their feelings about losing the game. Wendy Raquel Robinson also stars.

Derwin considers a new manager and trade to Chicago after he makes a good showing in the final (but losing) game of the season. Melanie fears that Derwin will accept an offer from Chicago, which would force her to choose between uprooting to accompany him or staying put to continue in medical school. In desperation, Melanie asks Tasha to intervene on her behalf.

Malik & Jason, feeling insecure, deal with the impact of losing the big game in their own special ways.

This was an interesting episode: the team doesn't come out on top—somebody's got to lose the game! And our guys, especially Jason, are threatened by the prospect of change in their lives and lifestyles. One hopes that a person as frugal and pragmatic as Jason has actually made plans for just such a contingency; but the reality of not being the head of a team after so many years has got to be daunting.

Melanie, on the other hand, has truly got to decide what she wants for her future: if she really intends on pursuing a medical career, she can't go following every whim of her partner. They may have to deal with the reality of a long distance relationship.moreless
