The Garry Moore Show is a Red Wing Production from Bob Banner Associates Inc. and was a very successful variety program that featured the guests in light-hearted fun and antics. Showcasing musical themed sketches and from 1958 to 1963 the highlight of the show was "That Wonderful Year" with tributes and facts that were special to the year that was being celebrated. Allen Funt also had a segment of "Candid Camera". Fun show in what was probably the typical Garry Moore show pattern. Several songs by Nat King Cole along with some informative and fun patter with Garry. Carol Burnett vamps it up and Marion Lorne drags Garry around by the ear in the opening dance number. Space-age sketch has Garry set to become the first man on the moon, and includes a dig at then-President Kennedy.

Show is sometimes available for purchase on DVD on Ebay. It's a scratchy kinescope with most of the opening animated sequence intact. The commercials are cut out, unfortunately. Closing credits and the most audible version of the closing song ("We just said hello...") I've heard on any of the four available shows.moreless
