Episode Summary

EDIT

AIRED:
Garry's guests are Carol Lawrence, Leslie Uggams and Jan Murray. Also with regulars Durward Kirby, Marion Lorne and Carol Burnett. Highlights: "That Wonderful Year" is 1935. With film clips of FDR, Joe Louis, Ameila Earhart and some of the fashions of that year, plus the usual parade of songs. There's a tricky opening involving letters (not like Perry Como's letters, but a-b-c letters) and another bit of trick photography concerning Marion Lorne's top and Carol Lawrence's legs. Carol Burnett plays one of those high-pressure cheerer-uppers who are volunteer workers in hospitals. Leslie Uggams is shown in a film clip from 1953 when she was with Garry on his old daytime show.moreless
