Garry's guests are Mel Torme and Alan King. Also with regulars Durward Kirby, Marion Lorne and Carol Burnett. Highlights: "That Wonderful Year" is 1951. Remembered for the Kefauver hearings, Joe DiMaggio's retirement, the popularity of skin-diving and the poodle haircut. Mel Torme sings "County Fair". Alan King does a skit about weekends at home with the family. Garry & Durward do one of their two little old ladies sitting on the front porch skits. Carol Burnett appears as a woman just back from Tanganyika, a kind of forerunner of the Peace Corps. Durward & Carol do a spoof of the play "Gigi".
