Garry's guests are Carol Burnett, Roy Castle and Allen and Rossi. Also with regular Durward Kirby. Highlights: "That Wonderful Year" is 1948. Long-playing records were introduced, the mambo was the dance craze and plastic bubble gum appeared on the American scene. This was also the year Harry Truman bested the pollsters and Jane Wyman and Sir Laurence Olivier won Oscars. Carol with Garry and Durward sings a song telling how wonderful it is to be free from the weekly television grind. Carol plays a violinist who is so careful of her hands her right hand has never touched her left hand. Carol sings "I've Got a Loverly Bunch of Coconuts". The finale is called "After the Brawl".moreless
