Nice played, some revelations pretty darn good. With the risk of the show being bore and with some lack of action, here comes some nice revelations. Cop Nick becomes friend with his neighbor vampire Dylan (and he sees him as vampire!! nice one yes). The sweet Andie looks like is gonna find out about the truth about her mother and herself. Brett becomes a running addicted lol. The show had a slow start, with some nice premise could go wrong if the producers kept hiding the obvious!

But i expect more from this show, has a lot of potential, more Vampires, more Witches, BIGGER wolfs (Brett as Wolf is way to small...).

Waiting for the next one ;)moreless
  • Past secrets and lies are exposed in this revelation filled episode of a rapidly improving show.

    8.0
The last couple of episodes of The Gates have been a little slow but unlike some I enjoyed them but this episode seen the return of some action to the screen mixed in with the prerequisite mystery elements that make a good television show.

Since the show started it has been obvious that everyone in the town has secrets, Some obvious like the Radcliffe's and some not so much like Andie's lineage but this episode saw the lids flying off more than one "can of worms", The truth behind Chief Monohan's seemingly self imposed exile was revealed which of course played into the whole story of Marcus's girlfriend trying to kill him(Always knew there was something weird about her and how quickly she latched onto Marcus). That of course led to the rather surprising scene where Nick was saved from the gun-wielding vengeful chick not by the rogue wolf(Was I the only one expecting Brett to pop out and snatch her up for a late night snack?) but by his next door neighbor who revealed his true vampiric nature to a very shocked Chief Of Police which was surprising for two reasons firstly Dylan and Nick were hardly friends plus Dylan seemed most committed out of all The Gates residents to protecting his secret and ensuring they remain in The Gates, Should be interesting to see how that plays out next week when Marcus starts looking into his GF's murder and how Nick and Dylan get past their previous relationship to cover up the death and also how it impacts on Dylan's relationship with his wife considering how much he expressed his disapproval for her feeding habits with the repairman in the pilot.

Of course throw in the wolf pack leader getting shot by a drunk hunter forcing Brett to kill the guy and leave the body which would have been discovered but for the actions of a certain football coach who is apparently the clean up guy for the whole pack (Is he a wolf too or just the garbage man?), That of course raised more suspicions in Nick who really is starting to see more and more weird s*it going on around him - He ain't as dumb as he might look and part of me thinks he has a covert file on everything that's happening there which he is trying to unravel - Should be good to see how he handles that now that he is part of it.

And of course we can't forget the resident succubus, After her true nature was revealed by her father we were all wondering when he'd tell her and how it would impact on her relationship with Charlie or Brett and with Carlie's reaction to their make out session it would seem anything more involved would certainly lead to death which would put a cramp into any relationship, The ramifications should be interesting to watch now that Andie finally knows the truth - Will she or won't she pursue a relationship given the potential consequences.

All in all this show keeps getting better and I can't wait for next week to see how the various situations unfurl themselves, Will Brett's decision to go rogue endanger him or the pack? Can Nick and Dylan work together? Will Marcus discover Nick's involvement in Teresa's death, Will Andie pursue Charlie or Brett knowing what can happen? Plus so much more.moreless
  • Great episode, my favorite so far!

This episode was great! the end was a bit of a shock ( though since they showed that scene on the commercial you kinda saw it comming). I did like that the way he found out was that the vampire saved him ( and his daughter). It was funny how both of the guys hated the idea of having to go to the father daughter dance together, but then they started to get along. It was a really good reveal, and i am glad that they didn't wait too long into the series for Nick to find out about vampires in the town, he is supposed to be an intellegent cop and it seems kind of far fecthed that all of this would be going on in the town and he just remain completely oblivious.moreless

    • Claire: Don't forget that you and Emily need to be at the Monohans at six.
Dylan: (groans) I still don't see why we're carpooling.
Claire: Because Emily wants to and it wouldn't be such a terrible idea for you to spend some time with Nick.
Dylan: Well, I don't know what we're gonna talk about. I don't think I'm currently a suspect in any of his cases.
      Claire: The day is young.

    • (Nick and Dylan talking about why they moved to The Gates)
Nick: Well, I've been a cop 15 years. And, uh, I've seen things that no father should see. You know, you want to protect your children, but the end of the day, sometimes it's just you against the world.
Dylan: You know, I remember when Emily was only a few months old. I woke up one night and, um, I thought I heard her on the baby monitor, I went into her room, and she was just sleeping. And, uh, yeah, I stood there and...in that moment, I knew there was nothing I wouldn't do and nothing I wouldn't give up to keep that little girl safe. We made an offer on the house the next day.
      Nick: Kids change you.
