  • A&E Renews The Glades for Season 3

THE BIGGEST NEWS ... A&E has renewed The Glades, TV's highest-profile show that I know nothing about, for a third season. Is it about air fresheners or something? [Deadline Hollywood] ... As usual, Hollywood's TV executives are keeping their fingers… more

  • Torchwood: Miracle Day, Dr. Who, and Breaking Bad

Summer's winding down but it's not too late to start some new, last-minute summer traditions! For instance, just this morning I started a summer tradition of throwing grapefruits in my neighbor's pool. Maybe later today I'll start a summer tradition… more

but even there that thing, whatever it is between Jim and Callie, is getting more annoying by the minute. "yes, I tell my husband I want a divorce"..."No, it was not the right time", "are you sleeping with her?"..."Jim, I dont understand!!!"....Shut up already and make up you mind, woman!!!!! ItIs so bad and Jim looks like an idiot every time those two having one of those awkward dialogs. And what it a forensic nurse please? never heard that one before... Bring Josie back, would ya??!!!!

Wow! I am not usually take series like these type before. But i am likeing The Glades quite alot. It is one heck quite of interesting cop drama solving mystery series i've ever seen. Oh, Man! It should does have similar entertainment/theme to Sons of Anarchy & Justified most definitely.

  • It started off great with a funny cop gathering up a loose team to help him fight crime in his unorthodox style (asking people questions? He's craaaaaaaaaaaaazy!) Unfortunately, lately the show is not progressing in a good direction since...moreless

They started introducing several female "partners" for Jim. This unfortunately forced Jim to explain himself more which frankly made him sound like an idiot most of the time. This coupled with him starting saying things like "oh the num lock is on, this means a someone experienced with computers was using it" makes it seem like he is solving things through idiotic assumptions that happen to be correct rather than just being very observant.
I'm not saying more characters aren't good, but Matt Passmore unfortunately seem to have a very limited number of people he can act well with. Kiele Sanchez works, the regular crew works, but these other partners just make for uncomfortable dialogue (especially the indian chick...).
One major problem other than the dialogue sometimes sounding way off is the fact that the investigations having turned extremely formula. It is ALWAYS supposed to be the person you don't expect. Someone who's not a suspect (perhaps introduced as a friend of someone or just seemingly a witness that has little to say). I've nothing against people trying to be a bit clever and creative in their who-done-its, but its not really clever when you do it over and over again and still expect people to be surprised and impressed.Add on the fact that the will-they-won't-they between the male and female leads is beginning to wear a little thing and I have to say I'm not sure I will continue watching The Glades for much longer. It's a shame because it started very promisingly.moreless

  • Excellent show. One slightly distracting aspectforCallie .

My husband and Ilove the show. I have only one suggestion to make to the actress who plays Callie. Her voicehas a significanthypernasal quality. Hypernasality makes ones voice sound "whinny". For me, this detracts from the character who plays a strong, independant woman who is anything but whinny.
A few sessions with a Speech Pathologist who specializes in voice disorders might help restore her voice or determine if there is a structural reason for the nasality.moreless
