Show Summary

This show follows Matt Passmore as Jim Longworth, a Chicago homicide detective who gets 'kicked' off the force after being shot and wrongfully accused by his ex-captain of having an affair with his wife. After receiving his payout, Jim decides to moves to the sleepy, middle-of-nowhere town of Palm Glade, outside of the Florida Everglades, where sunshine and golf are plentiful and crime is seemingly at a minimum. He joins the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) but finds that the town is far from idyllic when murders keep piling up.

  • A Kia infomercial with a plot...

    6.0
Don't get me wrong, i don't hate the show (although it's starting to become a bit redundant), I loved the feel and attitude of the first season; the second one was so-so (in a sort of "refried s01"), i'm having a hard time enjoying the 3rd one now. The thing I do know is how I just find product placement a little bit too "in your face". Here I was, thinking Hyundai was being a bit obvious in Burn Notice; that was NOTHING compared to Kia's shameless cheesiness in The Glades! It's so ridiculously obvious that its become a bit of a joke/curiosity for me every passing episode, I'm like: "OK let's see what dumb and "out of context" cheesy line of dialogue are they going to come up with to pitch the intermittent wipers of the parking sensors. We've all gotten accustomed to product placement, it's been more or less noticeably part of every show and movie since the dawn of time, and I usually don't mind it so much, as long a they seamlessly blend it with the plot, but when the actor in the scene stops everything to pitch it like "Wow, your Kia Sorrento has this and that feature as standard, that's so cool" IT'S SO NOT COOL...

Another pet peeve of mine in the show is Callie's makeup, the first few episodes, she was the witty tanned hot nurse with an attitude that just made you go "aaarrrrgggghhhh baby"! but as episodes went by, she somehow became the undecided bitchy nag that just gets on your nerves. I miss the Chicago bad-ass girl cop. Why, oh why did they start to make Callie look like a 9 year old that got hold of her mom's makeup case, I've seen clowns with more subtle makeup...

If I'm ever in any kind of job, ANY, I want an intern like Daniel, doesn't cost a dime and could hack the pentagon if they asked him!

    let's hope s04 improves...moreless

Matt Passmore is the best part of this show, the perfect blend of wit and seriousness
  • love it

i love this show because it has humor instead of the creepy and dark police investigative shows. I just wish there was more then 13 episodes per season.
