Goof: (Continuity) It is well established that Dorothy and Stan were married for 38 years before their divorce and not only that, but they got married because she was pregnant. However, in this episode, we meet Dorothy and Stan's son, Michael (we met their daughter Kate, in the second episode of the first season). He is the older of the two, but looks no older than late 20s, not late 30s or early 40s. This doesn't make sense.
Rose: (after Bridget has slept with Michael) Oh, I so wanted your first time to be special.
Bridget: It was, Mom...four years ago.
Rose: (disturbed) Oh, I really don't want to talk about this...
Bridget: I want to be able to share my deepest, darkest secrets with you.
Rose: Couldn't we just wear matching outfits?
Dorothy: Rose, when're you going to accept the fact that your daughter moves faster than Marcus Allen?
Rose: I can't accept it, I don't know who Marcus Allen is!
Rose: (tearfully) I've never seen Bridget in bed with a man...except Raggedy Andy!
Blanche walks into the kitchen still suffering from back problems.
Sophia: What did the doctor say?
Blanche: Well after commenting that I am the most spectacular specimen of female anatomy he has seen since Miss Julie Newmar, he said I have a back problem.
Dorothy: Thank God you went to a specialist.
Blanche: He said no physical activity for a week, I have to wear a corset and stay on my back with my legs elevated.
Sophia: That's the same thing you did last Saturday.
Blanche: (about Michael) Maybe he needs a little exposure.
Rose: Exposure to what?
Dorothy: To plutonium, Rose.
Sophia: When we're alone, she feeds me lumpy oatmeal and black bananas.
(When Sophia comes into the bedroom where Michael and Bridget are) Michael: Grandma, this isn't what it looks like.
Sophia: Please, I'm 80 years old. I may not remember what it feels like but I sure as hell remember what it looks like.
Blanche: I'd get up to shake your hand but I threw my back all out of wack. You see...
Michael: Oh you don't have to explain. My mother's told me all about you.
Michael: I attend the school of life.
Bridget: Really I hear that's where everyone goes when they can't get accepted anywhere else.
Dorothy: What do you call a girl who jumps into bed with a man whom she knows for one day?
Blanche: A damn good sport.
(Rose is in denial about Michael and Bridget's affair.)
Rose: I can't believe it.
Dorothy: I can't believe Alan Thicke has a hit show, but that doesn't mean it isn't true.
This episode was videotaped on October 17, 1986.
Where the hell are these people? The two "lovers" are obviously in Blanche's room but you can see the door across the hall which is Rose's room. If you were in Blanche's room you'd be able to see straight down the hall. This room, spatially, belongs to Dorothy.
The background shot during the closing credits features Dorothy, Rose and Blanche at the kitchen table, while Sophia looks on, in her black veil, sitting at the counter in the middle of the kitchen.
This episode marks the first appearance of Dorothy's son Michael, who is a member of a jazz band. This is also the only appearance by Rose's daughter Bridget.
