I recall reading a reason for the exclamation mark on the front door, several years ago. However, I can't recall what it was, nor do I remember where I read it.

Does anyone know the reason for the exclaimation mark on the front door?

Supposedly Bea Arthur carved it in the beginning of the series for good luck.

yes, i recall it being in her intimate portrait, and on their greatest moments if i'm right.

it was good luck, it lasted 7 years, and only ended b/c BEA was stupid and didn't want to continue.

To be honest, I did not know about the exclaimation point until I went to the GG website and it was mentioned under trivia. Then it became obvious. That was where I also found out about Bea carving it in for good luck.

Which GG website (there's like a thousand out there)? The one on the Lifetime website?

Bea wasn't stupid for wanting to leave after 7 years. If you go through and rewatch the intimate portrait series and the Greatest moments shows, you would then know why she left. The only one that's stupid looking is you for not knowing your facts.

If you look closely in a few episodes you can see something similar in the door frame going to the kitchen as well.
