    Originally he was hired to co-exist with Sophia. But apparently the audience fell in love with her and he was sent packing. I would have loved to have had a story behind why he was let go from the working in the house, but that is sitcoms for you.

    In an interview with Betty and Rue, they said many of Sophia's one-lines were meant for the chef. So I guess he was kind of the basis for the Sophia we know and love!

    Part of the charm of the series was that there were four women living together and sharing their lives, and having a man in that mix would have taken away from the dynamic.

    yeh im glad the cook was'nt in it as i think a man in the house wud have just ruined the whole show
