Dorothy is not pleased with the new man in Sophia's life, a former gangster named Rocco whom Dorothy discovers playing strip poker with her mother out on the lanai. Rocco has all kinds of stories of his past glories that he tells Sophia, and even ends up getting a motorcycle to impress her. Meanwhile, Blanche informs Dorothy that she read Rose's diary and was horrified to learn that Rose has written all kinds of nasty things about the "two pigs" with whom she lives. The more the two women read, the more they can't believe Rose's descriptions of what they believe to be the two of them. Things reach their climax with Rocco when he turns up with a huge sum of money and Sophia realizes that he has robbed a bank. When she confronts him, he confesses that his past is largely a lie that he concocted in order to impress her, and he agrees to turn himself in to authorities. In the meantime, Blanche and Dorothy learn that the pigs described in Rose's diary were actually two real pigs that she lived with for some time, and Rose must forgive them for snooping.
