This episode was slightly funny. I loved Dorothy's joke about the little man in the refrigerator who turns the light on and off. It was no surprise that this episode was good. Rose getting the TV reporter job was a pretty good plot. Within the first 8 minutes, I didn't really get any laughs, though... But I did enjoy watching. I wasn't really paying attention because I was on the computer... But it was decent... It wasn't necessarily a series classic... The scene in the beginning with Rose's glasses and Dorothy's little man in the refrigerator comment were very good though. It got better mid-way with Sophia and Dorothy's insults to Blanche.moreless
  • An above average episode.

    7.5
Blanche learns that Mel Bushman is more than just a once ina while one-night-stand. It was nice to see Blanche care about someone, but I really didn't like the storyline. The whole news reporter story was just a bit "jumping the shark." It had the potential to be something more.

    • Blanche: Ooh... I've got goosebumps. Mel'll be here any minute.
Dorothy: Honey, why are you so jumpy? You've been out with Mel a thousand times.
Blanche: I know but now there's more at stake - everything's changed. It's all new and exciting. In many ways I... I feel just the way I felt when I was a virgin.
Sophia: You mean the feeling isn't gonna last long?
Blanche: Are you implying I lost my virginity at an early age?
Sophia: I'm just saying you're lucky Jack & Jill Magazine didn't have a gossip column.

    • Dorothy: (to Rose, who is sticking her head in the refrigerator, trying to see whether the glasses that she is testing fog up) Rose, leave the glasses in the refrigerator, close the door and keep your head out here with us.
Rose: Well, how will I know if they fog up?
Dorothy: The little man who lives in there who turns the light on and off, he'll tell you.
Rose: I'm not in the mood for jokes, especially about the little man. You know he scares me.

    • Dorothy: (to Blanche) What's all this Bush-mania all of a sudden? He's a man you yourself described as Fred Flintsone with a better car.
