  • Season 3, Episode 24.

This was an OK episode. There was nothing special about it. The plot was OK, the script was OK, from what I saw. I didn't watch the whole episode because I was on the phone talking. I liked that Dorothy interfered with someone else's job again, and she got Mister Terrific fired after the crew liked her recommendations and suggestions, but Mister Terrific himself didn't. Also, Mister Terrific is dating Rose! Haha. Not bad at all. I kinda liked that scene where they were both hanging, although it is so weird and I was waiting for him to drop her, even though I knew it wouldn't happen. Decent episode, which I overrated because the show is usually a lot better than this.moreless
  • C'mon guys, it's actually quite funny...

    8.1
I'm honestly not sure why everyone knocks this episode so much... It never seemed that bad to me. Yeah, it's a little lame, but it's still funny. Mr. Terrific is an incredibly pathetic character, but that's what's so funny about it. Classic scene where the puppet insults Dorothy while she's on camera. I love how she grabs his mouth and then he says "Yeah right, like that's really going to shut me up." Hysterical! The "publicity stunt" at the end is the only part I don't like. I wish they'd found some other way to resolve it, but it's not horrible. And the scene at the end where Blanche gets "arrested" for stealing the better bed is priceless. I really feel like this episode is seriously underrated.moreless
  • One of my least favorite episodes.

    1.4
The whole episode was ridiculous. Rose dates a children\'s TV star and Dorothy steals his job. Knowing Dorothy, why would she take such a childish job? Then the idea of seeing them hanging from the ledge was just absolutely ridiculous. Even the part about Blanche\'s bed wasn\'t funny. However, if reworked the bed story should have been the main story and with a little work the episode could have been better than it was.moreless
  • Rose dates Mr. Terrific, a man who has his own kids tv-show. Dorothy, who is looking for work, gets hired by Mr. Terrific, but inadvertantly gets Mr. Terrific fired when the producers like her better.moreless

    7.5
Mr. Terrific is silly, but he's believable as the type of man Rose would date. The episode features more of the kids show itself than some viewers may like but it's not that bad. Blanche has also bought a new bed but is delivered the wrong one, and she struggles with whether or not to return it. Nothing major really happened with this episode. It ends happily with Mr. Terrific being re-hired. I assume they no longer dated, as we never see or hear about him again, so this episode wasn't vital to the show but still not an entirely bad episode.moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • GoofIn the part where the girls are in the kitchen talking about Blanche getting a new bed and Rose meeting Mr. Terrific, if you look behind Sophia you will see that somebody left a pink mug in the icemaker in the refrigerator. Later when they are in the kitchen again after Dorothy and Rose leave the studio, the pink mug is still there.

    • Mister Terrific says the show will have run 22 years in September, but when Fred mixes up his role as Mister Mailman instead of Mister Policeman, Mister Terrific says "16 years, Fred, get it right!" But Mister Terrific was absolutely against any changes ever being made to his show, so he had to have hired Fred when the show started.

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Blanche: Every time I crawl into bed, I feel guilty.
Sophia: Then take down the video equipment.
Blanche: I mean the brass bed, I shouldn't have kept it, Rose is right, it's just like stealing.
Sophia: So call the store and return it.
Blanche: I can't do that, I've had the bed over 3 weeks, they won't take it back.
Sophia: How much use could you have given a bed in 3 weeks? (pause) Oh...

    • Blanche: I'm just exhausted, I've been out bed shopping all day.
Sophia: Have you no shame? Bed hopping today is sexually irresponsible.
Dorothy: Not bed hopping, Ma, bed shopping.

    • Rose: Don't worry, Dorothy. I was trained in psychology back in St Olaf.
Dorothy: That doesn't count, Rose. In St Olaf, they think that Freud is a way to cook chicken.

    • Dorothy: Mr. Terrific, I think that Lex Luther and the Joker are harrassing an old lady on the stairwell. Could you come up and zap them with your x-ray vision?
Rose: Mr. Terrific doesn't have x-ray vision.
Dorothy: Rose please, this is no time to point out his shortcomings!

    • (Blanche has been feeling guilty about keeping a bed she ordered that the company didn't charge her enough for. The doorbell rings and Fred walks in wearing his Mr. Policeman outfit.)
Blanche: Oh, thank God! I can't live with myself anymore. Take me!
      Dorothy: Blanche!
Blanche: Dorothy, please, stay out of this. I know what's best. Just slap the handcuffs on me, the bed's this way.
(Fred shrugs and follows her down the hallway but first stops and turns to everyone sitting in the living room.)
Fred: Y'know what's funny? I was supposed to be Mr. Mailman today.

    • Mr. Terrific: Hello Dorothy i'm Mr. Terrific.
Dorothy: Hello Mr. Terrific meet Mrs. Severely Depressed.

  • NOTES (2)

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • Mr. Terrific's puppet is named Kolac and is from the planet Twilar. This is a reference to The Dick Van Dyke Show, episode #50, where Rob (Dick Van Dyke) dreams that everyone has become walnut eating aliens that follow Kolac (Danny Thomas) from the planet Twilo.
