The Golden Girls

Season 3 Episode 2

One For the Money

Aired Unknown Sep 26, 1987 on NBC

  • Trivia

    • Goof: While she is at the house,Priscilla's fiance calls. How would he know that she would go there and not be at her own house? She didn't tell anyone she would be going to the Golden Girls' house.

    • Not only does Priscilla show no etiquette for the ladies, by randomly showing up on their doorstep at three o'clock in the morning, but she seems to have no regard for the fact that these ladies are cooking for 300 people who are going to attend her wedding, as she just ups and decides to elope, without an explanation or apology to the women.

    • In Sophia's flashback to 1954, she says that Dorothy and Stan are celebrating their 10th anniversary. Dorothy and Stan got married in 1949, so their 10th anniversary should occur in 1959, not 1954.

  • Quotes

    • Rose: Back in St. Olaf, I was known as the dancing fool.
Dorothy: How old were you when they dropped the "dancing" part?

    • Blanche: I have to win that $10,000. I'm in desperately need of medical attention.
      Dave: Is it serious?
Blanche: Very. If I don't buy a new fall wardrobe, I'll never land myself a doctor.
Dave: Blanche, sometimes I think you don't take me seriously.
Blanche: Don't be silly. I love you as much as I could love any dry cleaner.

    • (Doorbell rings.)
Blanche: Who could that be at three in the morning?
Dorothy: Maybe it's a Jehovah's Witness with a caffeine problem.

  • Notes

    • The background shot during the closing credits features Dorothy dipping Rose during the dance marathon while Blanche stands in the background, horrified.

    • Just on an amusing note: Sophia talks about being behind on the times, referring to wanting to see the final episode of M*A*S*H, which ended on February 1, 1983. McLean Stevenson appears as Stan's brother in upcoming episode Brotherly Love.
