  • Personally I don't like to see Rose so down and sad.

I think that the way they wrote it, showed Rose to afraid to make any of her own choices. It was stated in the pilot that it's been quite a long time since Charlie. I would think it would be a little bit easier to accept a date now. It has been quite a long time, and it should have been written a little differently with Rose more confident of her choice.
  • Rose is reluctant to go on a date, though it has been 15 years since her husband Charlie died. She finally agrees to go on a cruise with Arnie Peterson, but gets cold feet when he wants to sleep with her. Can Rose overcome her fear?

This is the first of many episodes to be written by Barry Fanaro and Mort Nathan. This is a clever plot and lets the audience delve into the mind of naive Rose Nylund. We are also treated to the reasons behind her vulnerability and innocence. There are many classic lines and moments in this episode. This is definitely a real treat!
