As the start of the episode the camera zooms in on the garage (in the front of the house), but in all episodes in which the garage is set, and whenever the girls enter in and out, it is located in the back of the house.
Vito Scotti plays Vincenzo in this episode of The Golden Girls, but returns to the show the next season to play another Italian- Dominic in the episode entitled "Foreign Exchange" (4-24). You may note that his name has changed and so there is no reference to the earlier episode or the girls having seen him once before. Many might recognize him from playing other Italians on other 80's sitcoms, Uncle Aldo Micelli on Who's the Boss?, and Dino Forenzi on Charles in Charge.
Blanche: He pinched me!
Sophia: It's a reflex. He's Italian.
Dorothy: Wait a minute, Ma, you say your Italian is rusty but you recognize the word for spearhead?
Sophia: It was my brother's nickname for a while as a child.
(Sophia translates Vincenzo's instructions)
Sophia: I am the master, I am the king, I am the boss...I am the Walrus.
Dorothy: Ma, either your Sicilian is rusty or he's the world's oldest hippie.
The background shot during the closing credits features Dorothy, Rose and Blanche, in the kitchen, holding their noses.
Dorothy: I sound like I'm on Ryan's Hope. Dorothy is alluding to the soap opera which aired in the 1970's and 1980's and featured a family by the name of Ryan.
Dorothy: This looks like the road construction crew from Cocoon.
Cocoon is a popular movie from the eighties.
