  • Blanches brother comes for a visit after his divorce

Dorothy's facial expressions in this episode kill me. Especially when rose whispers in her ear that Clayton is a homo and she mistakes rose for saying 'clayton is a hobo'
Then sophia working out that clayton is gay after asking him a few questions.
I like episodes of the golden girls, when the storyline doesn't centre around dorothy and Sophia because they add so much comic relief to an episode, but rose's comment at the end, of blanche's inability to say 'not tonight' is really clever.
As a writter christopher lloyd really improves over the course of the show, and wrote some of the shows best episodes
  • Blanche's brother Clayton come for a visit with some big news. He's gay and Blanche has a lot of trouble dealing with it.

This show is one of the reasons why so many gay men are huge fans of Golden Girls. The subject of Clay coming out is handled with taste and humor and is handled very realistically. Clay is in his forties and has been married like so many men. When he tells Blanche that he is tired of living a lie, she admits it's hard for her to adjust, but she's willing to try. During the 80's this story was played out in thousands of homes in the US as gay liberation took off in earnest. But even with the serious subject, Golden Girls could find the funny! While they are in the bar, Blanche gets an offer for a date and thinks she's converted one! Plenty of laughs but not mean.
Rose's "not tonight" when Blanche tries to apologize with the two hardest words for her to say is also a real winner.
