Goof: In the kitchen when Dorothy is talking about her daughter taking back her cheating husband, there's a bowl of grapes on the table in front of Sophia. When the camera switches, the grapes are gone. When it moves back, the grapes are back, and then they're gone again.
Dennis Drake would go on to become a crew member in very early episodes of Will & Grace.
Rose asks why any man cheats, essentially saying she doesn't believe in such things. However, in season seven, she not only cheats, but seems excited about it, due to Miles' frugality.
The scene on the lanai where Dorothy talks to Dennis mirrors the scene in season one where Dorothy expresses her feelings towards Stan.
When Dorothy wakes Sophia up, Sophia talks about a dream where she was stranded on a desert island with Cesar Romero. Cesar Romero would later play her boyfriend Tony in the episode "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun...Before They Die".
Dorothy: Ma, wake up, I have to talk to you.
Sophia: Dorothy, I was having a dream I was stranded on a desert island with Cesar Romero in a loin cloth.
Dorothy: Ma, I have a problem.
Sophia: Dorothy, do you know that blue washcloth in my bathroom?
Sophia: That's how big the loincloth was, goodnight.
Blanche: (about Rose claiming that she and her husband had sex every single night) Rose, I find this a little hard to believe. I mean, you don't even like to talk about sex!
Rose: Well, it's been my experience that people who talk about it a lot don't actually do it very often.
Blanche: There's going to be an I Love Lucy marathon on tonight, I'm setting up for 12 hours of classic television.
Sophia: I never cared for that show, in every episode Lucy says the same thing, "Ricky, why can't I be in the show?" "Ricky, why can't I be in the show?" Why couldn't she be in the show? Her shows at home were a riot, his shows at the club stank, what's so entertaining about a Cuban beating a drum?
Dennis: Listen, Mom, I don't know why I did what I did. But I am determined to make this up to Kate. I love her. I won't do it again.
Dorothy: Well, I hope not, Dennis, because if you do I will break every bone in your hand.
Dorothy: I can't stand any more of this.
Rose: Blanche, I thought you said everybody loved Lucy!
Dorothy: I don't think I can stay out of this.
Sophia: Then you're gonna lose Kate. And someday, Stan will be calling to tell you about the grandchild you're never gonna see.
Dorothy: Ma, Dennis is here, and Kate has taken him back.
Sophia: Marvelous. Now get the hell out of my room.
Dorothy: Don't call me Mother Dorothy. I feel like I should be handing out rice on the streets of Calcutta.
Blanche: Rose, let's go watch "I Love Lucy" in the kitchen.
Rose: But that set is black and white.
This episode was videotaped on February 20, 1987.
The background shot during the closing credits features, Dorothy (angry on couch) and Blanche and Rose (also on couch), enjoying the I Love Lucy marathon.
We all know that Sophia often refers to Dorothy as "Pussycat." In this episode, we see that she calls her granddaughter Kate, "Kitten."
Dorothy's daughter Kate and her husband Dennis are reintroduced and last seen in this episode.
However, they are now portrayed by new actors other than Lisa Jane Persky and Dennis Drake who originated the roles in the first season episode Guess Who's Coming to the Wedding?.
The title of this episode is a take-off of Christina Crawford's memoir, "Mommie Dearest."
