    • Blooper of Betty White:

Rose: Well, scoff if you must, but... I, , screwed it up!

    • Bea Arthur:(at the end)...and a very special thanks to Estelle Getty, who can't be with us tonight. We love ya, ma!

    • Betty White: I haven't been this depressed since I was rejected by Uncle Sam.
      (no response from audience)
Rue McClanahan: (laughs): I thought they were gonna laugh, and they didn't.
Betty White: They didn't the last time, why should they now? You didn't before, and you shouldn't again. I haven't been this depressed since I was rejeted by Uncle Sam.
(she opens her blouse, makes noise, there's a huge laughter from the audience, then:)
Terry Hughes (O.S.): Settle down, please.
Rue McClanahan: Now don't laugh this time, 'cause I'm not waiting.

    • Rose: I never had PMS. I had a BMW, though.

    • (As heard on the Bloopers and Outtakes portion)
Sophia: "It was a fad. During the Great Depression... Oh sh(beep)!"

Dorothy: "I was such a creep!"
      Blanche: "I know!"
Dorothy: "I don't know how to explain it... I can't explain it... I don't know my lines!!"

      Rose: "Bea screwed up!"
      Dorothy: "Yes, I did!"

  • Notes

    • Estelle Getty died in 2008

    • The theme song ("Thank You for Being a Friend") and the song "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" were remixed and added to this special. They were given a more pop-ish touch to them.

    • There have been interviews with Estelle Getty from 1986 and 1992. The 1992 interview was Estelle's thoughts about the series finale, and her memories of the show.

    • This special was aired once more on November 12, 2005 to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of the show.

    • In addition to episode clips and interviews, you can see original bloopers, backstage footage, 1980's press footage, and taping of an England stage performance. Also the interview with Susan Harris is dated from 1989.

Now, why can't the makers of the season 1,2,3 DVD sets use some of this archive footage if Lifetime could for this special?

    • It is mentioned that Estelle had retired from acting.

    • Following the original airing, Lifetime aired the first and then the last episodes of The Golden Girls.

    • Estelle Getty was unable to appear due to her severe Parkinson's disease. However, she can be seen in flashback sequences as Sophia Petrillo.

    • This special aired on Lifetime, and reunited the Golden Girls, on June 2nd, 2003.
