  • Boom

I probably shouldn't have read the summary for next week's episode before I watched this because now I knew what to expect here tonight, but this was still a strong showing from The Good Wife. It had been awhile for the show since we saw something major happen between Alicia and Peter and this was just the jolt of energy TGDub needed.

The trial portions of the show were enjoyable as well. Alicia using her brilliant legal mind to embarrass Jonas Stern in court was excellent, and it is hard to believe that she still has to prove herself to Will and Alicia.

    Strong episode tonight.moreless
  • Great case, great personal story.. good episode

One of those episodes what have it all. It had stunning story. The whole case, the way it reflects somehow where we are in as society and the twists it's offered: teenage cartoonist, not so clear bomb and that man, who planted it.. All for other reasons that thought.

Even if that was really good case and Stern against them added tension, the personal stories were better. Cary being the loyal type. I was sure till the end that he has his own agenda on there, playing everyone but no.. he really just told it.

And Alicia and Peter. The way grandmother is back on the picture (what I hope will be great to turning Peter around) and then the whole church thing and all that leading to the end. That invisible wall and he crossing it.moreless
  • Another great episode.

I'm surprised at how much I like this show. I've enjoyed every episode I've seen so far and this one is no exception. Brilliant writing! The overall series story arc is interesting and I can't wait to see how it all unfolds, and somehow it doesn't seem to overshadow the smaller stories of each individual episode. In this episode Alicia's firm take on Jonas Stern's new firm. This provides some great courtroom drama and backroom shenanigans. Meanwhile in the background is the story involving Alicia's husband Peter. It's amazing how Alicia manages to keep it all together and make sense of it all.moreless

    • Jackie: (to Peter) You are a good man. You want to blame yourself. But you apologized. You apologized again, and again. Anybody who wants another apology from you only wants you to be weak. So stop this. Stop this now. My son will not be made weak.

    • Kalinda: The fact is, you know something about Stern no one else knows.
Alicia: I can't use it, Kalinda.
Kalinda: You can't not use it.
      Alicia: It violates attorney-client privilege.
Kalinda: Only if you tell someone, so don't tell someone.

    • Jackie: (Eli Gold opened her the door to Alicia and Peter's apartment) Who are you?
Eli Gold: The plumber. Who are you?
      Jackie: I'm Jackie.
Eli Gold: That means nothing to me.
      Jackie: Peter's mother.
Eli Gold: (embarrassed) Oh, yes, of course. Mrs. Florrick. I'm... I'm Eli Gold. Please, come on in.

    • Alicia: It's over.
      Peter: What is?
Alicia: Us. Me caring. Me actually thinking that you're changing.
      Peter: I am changing.
Alicia: No, you're not. You want to think you are so you can go back to what you did before.
Peter: Then, help me. Help me. If you're right, help me.
      Alicia: No.

    • Pastor Isaiah: I have respected the way you've stood by your husband. It's a lesson in forbearance.
Alicia: Well, it's a lesson in something.

    • Kalinda: We don't threaten with a subpoena unless he refuses to testify.
Alicia: How about we don't threaten at all?

    • Diane: This isn't about Mrs. Sanborn, Jonas. This is about us.
Stern: Of course it's about us. I'm going to destroy your firm. And Mrs. Sanborn understands that, don't you dear?
      Mrs. Sanborn: I do.
