  • So far the best episode of season 2.

    8.0
In this episode, the writer's actually came up with a good story that introduces a new function of Ralph's suit. Having Ralph being able to see a ghost in another dimension adds to the mystique of the suit. I would say that in viewing season 2 in order, this is the best episode so far.

The good: Seeing Bill getting possessed was nice, and having Rhonda introduce Ralph to the palm reader adds to her character. I think it helped that they didn't have yet another Joey Scarbury song in the background!

The bad: again Pam is missing from the episode. the special effects for this episode seemed even weaker.moreless
  • An unfortunate "ghost" story.

Please understand. I love this show.

It was a favorite when I was 12 years old, and I was delightfully surprised that I now still enjoy it as a 36-year old adult.

It's generally well-crafted and written and even though the writers sometimes rely on some of the 1-hour drama formulas (the biker gang comes to mind as another example), they're often able to use the extraordinary circumstances (i.e. the super-suit), to add a real twist to it.

This was not true of our ghost story episode, which showed Bill being possessed by a woman (with her voice being dubbed over-ouch!). Though it was supposed to be scary, Ralph flailing in the dark being "attacked" by some feline ghost seemed kind of silly in light of the X-files and more contemporary thrillers. Next, he's wrestling a woman in the "4th dimension," and pushing Bill back out of the 4th dimension--in a wheelchair!

Even Shakespeare had his off days...moreless
