How did most of the sea creatures float underwater, but Billy, Mandy and Grim didn't?
This is the second time Mandy jabs at the writers since Pandora's Lunch Box. The only difference is that they display a monkey instead of a baby.
This is the second time Billy mentioned his love for catfights since Schlubs.
Grim breaks the fourth wall by saying, "Why don't we end this episode?" Then a "The End" tag appears, but Mandy pushes it away.
Second appearance of Wolfman.
Fourth appearance of Dracula.
Running Gag: Nergal keeps getting hurt by Billy and his dad in this episode.
Third appearance of Sassy Cat.
Credits: The kids ride in the S.S. Sassy Cat submarine.
This marks the second time Nergal Junior morphs into Mandy since Son of Nergal.
"Nergal's Pizza" aired on Cartoon Network Video that February 12, 2007.
The Little Mermaid
The character Hariel, King Triceps, and Uvula reference Ariel, King Triton, and Ursula from The Little Mermaid.
Character: King Triceps
He is a reference to the Macho man, Randy Savage.
Customer: This pizza tastes "magicaly delicious!"
That is the slogan for Lucky Charms.
Character Name: King Triceps
His name is a reference to the name of a muscle in the arm.
Character Name: Snarkle
It sounds similar to a snorkle, a piece of scuba equipment.
Character Name: Uvula
Her name is similar to a uvula, which is located in the back of the throat.
Billy's story is similar to "The Little Mermaid" and the characters in it are spoofs of characters from "The Little Mermaid". Hariel is similar to Ariel; King Triceps is similar to King Trident; and Uvula is similar to Ursula.
The sea creatures are based on Snorks, an 80's Hanna-Barbera TV show that appeared on cartoon network in the early ninties.
